The following represent some of the major Type I deck archetypes, historical and current. The Type I scene is a varied and unpredictable environment, which exploits the brokeness of cards, past and present, to their fullest extent. The original basis for Type II strategy comes from the Type I scene of yester-year, so for the advanced student it is valuable to study the basis for today's current strategy. Of course, Type I is still played in some parts of the country on a regular basis... and new decks are popping up with each card set as cards are released that shake up the volatile TI scene. As of July 1st 1997, many of these decks will no longer be viable in their current form because of the restriction of the Black Vise (notably the Mana Crypt Decks and the Zoo)... expect a resurgence in U/W Control decks (especially "Mirror Kill") and NecroDecks.
