Artifact 4 Howling Mine 3 Anvil of Bogardan White 4 Abeyance 2 Gerrard's Wisdom 3 Swords to Plowshare 2 Wrath of God 2 Disenchant 1 Island Sanctuary Blue 4 Arcane Denial 2 Counterspell 2 Force of Will 1 Dissipate 2 Mistical Tutor 2 Relearn 4 Recall Green 2 Gaea's Blessing Had 7 Islands, 6 Plains, 1 City of Brass, 2 Undiscovered Paradise, 2 Brushlands, 1 Adarkar Wastes, and 1 Gemstone Mine 1st Round -- Ok.. i made the deck at 5:00 in the morning right before i left my house to drive down to Orlando ( not like i don't do that before every tournement, but... ) ... anyways, i was very worried that my deck would suck ass! =( ... i searched the enviornment and saw many a CPost decks wondering around, so i put trick in my board, and i was happy, but anyways, on to the game... The first round was against someone that i was talking to before the tournement, so it was kinda fun, he was pretty confident playing a creature based red speed deck, and did very well in the first game, coming out with 14 points of damage in the 5th turn... don't quite remember how, but that's what i was at... 6 =( ... anyways, on turn 6, i gerrard's wisdomed for 16 and i was happy, doin that for the next 8-10 turns in a row, maybe more... i was up to 50-60 with him doing countless amounts of damage every turn... i eventually ran him out of library and damage =) ... same story the second game... i just sideboarded in an extra gerrard's wisdom.... 1st round 1-0 match 2-0 games 2nd Round -- I played against some kind of White/Blue counterpost type deck and i got a couple of howling mines, and anvils out early, and he seemed happy... then in the middle of the game, he casted something ( i don't quite remember ) but it was very key in the game for him, but i thought i could get around it, and i didn't counter it, so he thought i was out of counters and casted a feldons... and we got into a C. War, and i won... Gaea's recursion made him consede after he saw what i was doing... Game 2 -- He sideboarded tremendously.. i think 8 cards or so... but i sideboarded 3 pyroblasts and a couple of other things... ummm... 2 disenchants, but anyways... he went first and he casted a first turn Phyrexian Furnace, which i force of willed, but his will seemed to be stronger since he went down to 3 cards and 19 life after his first turn... so he burned my force and after a while, i abeyanced, which went through, and disenchanted his furnace and he confidently smiled as he put it in the graveyard, since he casted another the next turn... anyways, i killed that one too after half of my deck was removed from the game, but i just got the gaea's blessing goin at the end, and no matter how many counters you have, you can't stop that =) Match 2-0 Games 4-0 3rd Round -- I played someone from team stupid playing a necro deck which had gerrard's wisdom ( i didn't know until after the game was over ) ... but anyways... it took me about 7-8 turns to lock him in the first game with no main phase, because of his agonizing memories slowed me down =( ... but anyways, it was cool... he couldn't believe that he didn't go again... he thought i would stop sooner or later, but ... =) hehe... Game 2 -- I don't know what he sideboarded... probably useless cards, but i didn't sideboard, i don't think... but it was the same story... on around the 7th turn, he was locked, and conseded soon after i abeyanced 7-8 times Match 3-0 Games 6-0 4th Round -- I played against another member of team stupid that was pretty confident that he would get revenge for his teammate... well, i was Real Worried ( not being sarcastic ) ... he had a strong " Big Blue " deck... and really held me off in the beginning, but i eventually got out a howler and an anvil, and we went a little while, but i got another howling mine out, and he got out 2 Rainbow Efreets and a man of war... pounding me for 8 a turn, so i started recycling my gerrards wisdom to stay around 20-30 life, and i counted his counters in graveyard, and he had 10 there, 8 of them were 4 forces and 4 counters... so i wasn't worried ... then i was at 12 or so, and gerrard's wisdomed again, and he countered, i countered, he ran out of cards... Game 2 -- similar start up, 2nd turn howling mine, 3rd turn anvil... he got a 4th turn knight of the mists, so i thought he sideboarded a bunch of creatures in...i plowed it... and started my game... we went a little ways into the game... i had to recall a couple of creature defense cards... plowed an air elemental, and another knight... got about 5 creatures with plow, ... i thought he was letting me have it too easy though... anyways, later in the game i drew one of my sideboard cards =) i was real happy... it was a Jester's Cap... I casted it, and he countered, i countered, he looked an saw that i only had two land untapped, so he countered again, and i Pyroblasted... he said... " well, sure then... " I guess he had a disenchant in his hand... but i laid my land of the turn, and he said " Oh Fuck! " ... and i capped him... i saw a shit load of counters, and then i noticed something... the lack of creatures in his deck... i capped 2 Rainbow's and a man of war, ... at the end of my turn he glaciered, and conceided because i ran him out of creatures. Match 4-0 Games 8-0 5th Round -- I played against a guy playing another Blue deck... he dropped a third turn ping guy that's pro red... don't know his name... Firestalker of something =/ anyways... i kinda giggled, but played on... I gained 14 or so on a fourth turn Wisdom thanks to my howling mine, and i thought that the Fire dude had his work cut out for him... then he dropped a Soldevi Excavations, and i was like confused on what my reaction should be... yeah, he's drawin 3 cards a turn, but he get's to chose one, anyways, i thought he had a little advantage, but he threw out some vodalian illusionists, and i was like, ok.... anyways... he was hittin me for three, and got me down to 12 or so, so i abeyanced during my turn, so he thought i was gonna do something nasty, so he phased out his pinger dude, and i was kinda confused on the reason why he didn't phase out the illusionist, but... i wrathed and cleared the board a little, and a wisdom a couple turns later, made him conceide... he said " No use wasting time on a game i'm going to lose anyway " smart decision... Game 2 -- I boarded in pyroblasts, and he took a guess that i had red in the board for pyroblasts, so he boarded in hydro's =) ... that was smart of him, although he didn't draw one... he went ( mana ) cut Bad in the beginning, and let me set up too fast... i got off a wisdom for an insane amount of life, and he conceided after I destroyed all of his disks with disenchants, and recalls and relearns... he knew he couldn't do enough damage to beat me in the deck that he had left... but those counter wars were amazing for the disenchants =) :: shakes head :: ... he said it was cuz he didn't draw his hydro's, but i drew my pyro's... i assume that was a good reason... Match 5-0 Games 10-0 6th Round -- My friend John Tatum... yeah the one that Pete Leihar cheated on and got away with, and i was asked to leave the room when i caught him, where he didn't recieve a warning, but anyways, we went to eat =) hehe... i was hungry Match 5-0-1 Games 10-0 Well, i made top seed... and this is what happened ... Quarterfinals... I played a speed green deck that was bragging about 3rd turn kills, so i got kinda nervous, but then i though... HEY =) no counters =) hehe... he got a first turn rogue elephant or something, and i plowed it... Haha! land advantage and card advantage =)... anyways, the howling mine came out, which seemed to speed his deck up a little =/ but i wasn't scared, although i was at 8 or so before i knew it... i wisdomes up to 18, but he knocked me down to 6 or something rediculus in one turn, so i wrath of goded, and abeyance locked him for the rest of the game, while he told me about how much damage he could do if he got one more turn =) ... Game 2 -- first turn Gazban Ogre... second turn River Boa... i plowed him =) ... :: trick up sleave :: hehe... i thought i wasn't gonna get to show him my trick, since he knocked me down to 8 on the third turn =/ ... but i wisdomed the next turn, but only for like 10 =( ... he kept hitting me, but then i drew it = ) hahaha... Island Sanctuary... he kept crumbling all my damn artifacts, but i had one more howling mine, that i countered with everything i had to stop his damn artifact elim... but i turned it into a damn island sanctuary deck, mystical tutoring for counters, to protect my side... i sliped him a peek at 4 counterspells, and he conceided... =) Match 6-0-1 Games 12-0 Semifinals... Played against a Green Red speed deck, similar to the green deck i played before, but not as fast... so since it wasn't that fast... he had no chance ... i Wisdomed almost every turn after turn four... but he didn't conceid... he suffered as all his burn was usless to my end game life of 72... Game 2 -- Same story... he couldn't hang with the life total... don't feel like boring all of you with the same old nonsense... Match 7-0-1 Games 14-0 Finals.... Well... as me and my friend Eden Roberts stopped talking trash to each other about how bad we were gonna crush each other... we played, and i went cut the first game, against a second and third turn ankh of mishra =( ... that was the end of that game... Game 2 -- He knew the deck... got me down to 3, I wisdomed 5th turn, showed him my hand with 2 recalls, and a relearn, he conceided... Game 3 -- He out played me... i'll admit it.... He got me low on life which made me frantically go for Wisdoms... I wisdomed for only 12, which brought me up to 16, but i was soon down to 8, Very dangerous.. =( ... i releared a wisdom, and wisdomed, recalled the wisdom, and wisdomed and i ended up with about 22 life or so... i was gettin greedy, and i relearned the wisdom and he pyroblasted it... i was like, ok, i'll counter it... he allowed it, and i wisdomed up to 32 or so, and here's where he got me... i built the deck, but he must have changed the board =/ ... i didn't know he had JOKYLHAUPS (sp) in his sideboard =/ ... He Haupsed on me, and i forced and he pyroed... i built up again, with 3 plains, and a mine, and he Flashfired... nothing i can do about that... he deserved to win... althought i beat like 3 other strong red decks, and i play tested against red all morning, i still lost to my own red deck =( ... oh well Match 7-1-1 Games 15-2 Thanks to all who read... sorry to anyone if i left out details.... if you want my deck list, you can check above under Andrew Pacifico's Abeyance Deck, or just email me or something at DrPacifico@aol.com...
