Then sit around and chat until the decks and boosters are handed out. I don't know why I enjoy writing down the cards, I'm not going to keep them, it's a teaser. And it's a bad one today. I've got 8 flyers in a U/B or U/B/W, including a desertion. I just write not thinking about it. Prior to handing the decks back, the head judge announces several will have to keep their decks they just logged. Please Please Please be me. Yet another teaser. After handing them in the sponsors, Dream Wizards, quickly collect and redistributes the decks. Now the fun begins, open the deck up and see what sucky cards I was given. Well it's not too bad it seems. I get some ok white, some pretty cool red, coulda used a keeper of kookus though. 8-) Green is good with the enchantments but just a craw wyrm. So it's U/B for me today, and not too shabby. Game 1: We begin, I won the toss so I decude to play. I lay a bog rat. he drops a resistance fighter. Next turn I lay a island and tap it, lay down the shrieking drake and pick up the bog rat. tap of the swamp and lay the rat back down. He puts down a white 1/1 (can't remember exactly.) Well it continues like this for a bit. He puts down a Orgg, I Man-O-war it, he puts it back down next turn, I hydro blast it. Really good players top deck everything they need heh. He puts out a cloud elemental, ugh. my drake's free for all is over. He spirit links it and a few turns later a blood lust and I'm dead. Did I mention the fireblast ? . Game 2: I play and come out ok until he kills my abyssal spectar, then I get my pestilence out, he's not dropping creatures and I'm weening him to death. then the Orgg hits the table. I am down to a knight of the mists and shrieking drake (slight mana screw), -Long Story Short (LSS)- he attacks and I block with the knight and then I tap 4 into the pestlience ASSUMING the damage resolution was complete, well it was considered the FE portion of blocker assignment, needless to say I take 8 points (4 trampl 0-1 Match 2: Eric from ??? Eric was pretty cool. Friendly and laid back. Game 1: I come out strong, he's a little mana screwed, flyers rule. Game 2: I'm play an island, he plays a mountain, I play a plains he plays a swamp, I play a plains, he plays a plains. I don't play a land, he plays a land, I don't play a land he plays a land, oh yeah and several creatures along the way, I DIE DIE DIE DIE DIE. On to game three Game 3: I shuffle, ALOT. Starts nice, for me island island island island Knight of the mists, he puts a torture on it , plkay shrieking drake next turn (he's tapped out.) and retrieve my knight. I play a plains (I NEED A SWAMP ! or two.) the plains is the last land I drop as he wipes out me knight and drake, 5 turns later when I draw my sibilant spirit I concede. Sucks to be me. 0-2 in 7 rounds of swiss. hmmm, time for arbys before going home. I drop. Dreams Wizards runs a good tourney and the players for the most part in the srea are really great, it's a good time. Lotsa name guys there, Brian and Justin Schnider to name two. But it makes for good competition. Well who needed to go to germany anyhow ! I'll qualify when it's back stateside. 8-) Shout outs to all those who I know and know me. Keith a.k.a Grinder
