Well, it has been awhile sence my last tourny report, but HEH, I havn't done better than 1-2 drop sence 1572. I figure that I came in 2nd and that I am going to write a late tourny report because I can. I hope you sit back, relax, and look at all I have to offer in my amazing tourny report! It all starts off Friday night at Dream Wizards, the second best card shop in MerryLand (Next to Pandora's Cube of course). Matt Linde, Brack Parker, Phil Harding, Adam "AdamD" Dale, Brendon "Spanky" McKay and I are all there and waiting for the amazing Pat Johnsan to show up from the wonderful state of New York. We all are killing the time by play-testing for the Rackville (D.C.) qualifier Saturday. We all know Matt and Brack can't play because those fools think school is more important, heh, they'll find out the hard way. SO I am running through the common box looking for Manta Riders so I have something to test with with the rest of the fellas even though I know Matt is lending me Living BEST tomarrow. I end up finding no Manta Riders (Must be all the Merfolk decks) and using Cloud Spirits instead. So we play for awile and Cloud Spirit/Spindrift/Curiosity/Warp is beating some ass (Ass - TradeAwake, CounterPhoenix and White Weenie). We then get together a little draft of BAD Saga and and I lose first round with a good B/G deck, sucks dude sucks. Pat shows up and they do another draft while Matt and I play more Rath Cycle and my blue deck is amazing and I am having thoughts of playing it tomarrow. Yeah right, over Living BEST, I think nat. So now that Matt and Brack are gone Phil, Spanky, Pat, AdamD and I all haul into Spanky's pile of car and head to McDonald's to get some food. We dicide we will be heading to Phil's house seeing that his folks are out of the town. So we head there and the 4 of them plan to draft 2 on 2 while I sit there and lol to the most amazing Conan O' Brian ever. Time to sleep. We wake up at 8:00 in the A.M. and I am doing fine because I went to bed at 1:00 in the A.M. while they all went to sleep at 4:30, those fellas crack me up. I am all set to do better than 1-2 (My goals are very elite) and they are all ready to do something too I geuss. We head out after shower time and head to the donught shap and I opt for the 2 for $2 cruseintwiches (sp?). We are then off to Rackville Ramada Inn and are there at 9:30. Which gives me time to walk around and say hello to all my MerryLand Boys (They will be in the praps). I register my deck and turn it in then Ernie tells me he left his deck at home so I give him my amazing blue deck. Ernie likes the style and we are all ready to rumble. If you do decide to go with IronPeter Death (Acctually Michael Wolfensberger Death) put 4 Chokes in the SB, I don't really give a Tinker's Damn what you take out. Now I will be getting to the tournament report. Round 1...I really don't remember his damn name, but he is one of my AU boys...He is playing the Pile formerly known as CounterPhoenix, he did have Mountains, not that new one with plains. Game 1: He is a little light on the mana and I take advantage of this with my playing skills and ride hermit druid like a camel in the desert to the victory. Game 2: I slap the scragnoths and lobos in and he has alot of mountains out. I have a decent draw and lobo him after he plays a something, but no phoenix. I really don't give a Tinker's Damn though as I beat him around and tell him to GET ME A VICTORY BEER!!!! 1-0...2-0 Chillin' Round 2...Chris Esko, I have heard of this guy...He is playing Living Death Game 1: Well, no one gets mana screwed but I love this matchup. Any time you have death on death you have to think. Basically he runs out of shit and plays a revenent, the funny thing is, he really didn't know what it did. This guy asks me if the creatures in my grave counted to, so I take a peek at the card and say, "Well, NO!" I Death a couple times and whatnot and win with about 35 minutes left. Game 2: This time Esko has the upper hand and I am sorta behind the druid race and he lobos my tradewinds I think. He eventually beats me with one minute left. I could have stalled but I aint that kinda fella. 1-0-1...3-1-1 Chillin' Round 3...Pat Jhonsan, hrmph, I came with him...He is playing Living BEST Game 1: Pat is a little light on recurres so I take him to school and let him know how a real Living BEST player plays the game. Game 2: Pat is now light on Swamps, yet he has those recurres in his hand. I once again have to explain the td'in rules to Pat but it was a bit late as Mr. Force is comin over with his saprolin' pals and hittin' hard. 2-0-1...5-1-1 Chillin', Ernie is 3-0 with The Blue Deck Round 4...Phil Harding, hrmph, I came with him too...He is playing MerryLand's own Corpse Dance With the Buyback Deck Game 1: I living death back a few too many creatures for Phil to handle and he does not have the death to my surprise to counter mine. I win in a few turns. Game 2: Phil is a little light on erlie mana and has to intuition for land and I slap out a tradewind and scragnoth. I will make it short, he played Thalakos Deciever 27 and 1/2 times. 3-0-1...7-1-1 Chillin', Matt and Brack are back from SATs :D Round 5...Spanky, hrmph, I came with him too, THATS 3 IN A ROW!...He is playing the crap formerly known as Counter Phoenix. Game 1: I basically roll all over him as I remove phoenixs from the game with my caffin queen. Game 2: This game is about the UNCOUNTERABLE, PROTECTION FROM BLUE, SCRAGNOTH...ROAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH. 4-0-1...9-1-1 Fallin' Asleep Round 6...AdamD, hrmph, WHOA, I CAME WITH HIM TOO, WHY THAT IS 4 FOR 4!!!...He is playing TradeAwakening. AdamD and I decide to split any prize we win. Game 1: Adam stops at 1 Island and 2 pools with three weavers in his hand. Game 2: I thrull surgeon AdamD 96 times and recur my cloudchasing eagle 67 and that is the game folks. 5-0-1...11-1-1 Back to Chillin' Status, I am in the top 8 no matter what now!
