The first one I decided to go with a Suicide Black, but I didn't like it ( even if it is taking me to 1st-2nd places ) Yesterday ( july 10 ) I decided to go with cursed sligh. Because it would beat the 1000000 WW/x decks around here. It was 7 rounds of swiss. Top 4 single elimination. On to the tournament! Round 1- Inácio, playing 5cg, tradewind lock. Game 1: Tough match, I know. But I know that sligh has a great chance of beating ANY deck Sligh just don't bothers with what your opponent is playing. Just burn him! So I win the coin toss and start, jackal pup, flunkies, and start the beatdown. Inacio's hand was ok ( I guess ) , he just can't deal with two flunkies and fireblasts. Game 2: In pyroblasts. My hand was ok again, but he plays a Tradewing Rider, wich I try to fireblast but he mana leaks, then he plays armageddon, with two birds of paradise in play. Game for him. Game 3: This one was hilarious! I get a good hand, again, but what makes the difference is that he only has 3 lands ( adarkar wastes, gemstone mine, paradise, ) then I top deck a wasteland. Game. Games: 2-0-1 Matches: 1-0 Round 2- Petrius , playing black, old style. He splashed white for some disenchants. Game 1- Jackal Pup 1st turn, flunkies, lancer,. He keeps playing shadow creatures, wich can't block my horde. Oh, the rest you know. Game 2- No scroll, no 1st turn jackal, no flunkies, all I see is some bolts, but they don't last forever. Oh, He also drained me for 7. Game 3- So so hand, no jackals , no lancers, only a flunkie and a fantastic. But I kept it becaus I had a firestorm, wich I know would be great against him. So, as I predicted, he keeps playing his silly creatures and when hehas five of them I firestorm. Huge card advantage since I only discarded mountains. With a clear path, flunkies has no trouble. Games: 4-0-2 Matches: 2-0 Round 3: Daniel, playing 5cg, tradewind lock. Game 1- Damn, I know 5cg is not a good match for me. Game one I just managed to kill his creatures with firestorm, and the fireblast took care of the Tradewind. Game 2- Haha. I knew his sideboard would wreck me. 2nd turn chill, 4th turn cop:red. Game. Game 3: This one was close, since I had some pyroblasts to kill hi tradewind. But he gets a huge card advantage with Wall Of Blossoms. And i have only a mogg flunkies, wich got terrored later. He wins, no lock, the centaur did the job. Games: 5-0-4 Matches: 2-1 Round 4: Fred, playing 3cg, but with no cool locks... Game 1-The fastest game of the day. The first two turns I play jackal pups, followed by a fourth turn Rathi Dragon, and some fireblasts. Game! Game 2 He goes: forest, rogue elephant. I go: mountain, done. He goes: Attack.take 3 I go: Incinerate, and he doesn't get a single land the rest of the game. Game. Fried. Games: 7-0-4 Matches: 3-1 Round 5: Carlos , playing WW/empyrial with splash of blue fo sleights. Game 1- We start like mad men, throwing creature after creature. He has more creatures than me, and they're pro-red, but they're all shadow and can't block. He's at ten, so I double fireblast him and cursed scroll him. I ended with 1 life... Phew... Game 2- Serrated biskelion goes all the way killing his pro-red creatures... Wooho! I love this card. Nobody here at my local shop believes me... I`m telling you guys, this card rocks! Games: 9-0-4 Matches: 4-1 Round 6: Chico, playing 3cg. Game 1-He gets me down to 1. But i double fireblats him. Game 2- I enter the two mogg flunkies mode, and 1/1 elves can't do a thing Games: 9-0-4 Matches: 5-1 Round 7: Georgius, playing a goblin deck, old style. He says he's pretty tired and wanna to go home. So he conceds Top 4: Daniel- 5cg ( undefeated ) Me- Sligh ( 6-1 ) Ricardo- Burn ( 5-2 ) Inácio- 5cg ( 4-1-2 ) Round 8: Ricardo, playing a mono-red deck without creatures. Game 1: He earthquakes for 5 while i have 2 jackal pups in play. Game. Game 2- Damn it. He seems to have 4276498276 fireblasts! I die! shit... Danieal beat Inacio, and then Ricardo.
