Subject: Date: Fri, 22 May 1998 10:09:57 PDT From: "Gérard Kraus" To: fkusumot@ix.netcom.com This information comes from the source, for I am, until now, the only, organizer of sanctioned tournaments in good old Luxembourg. I tell you briefly what happened at the nationals in Luxembourg . (Look at the report Vincenzo "Drake" posted) No disqualifications, no expulsions and only two warnings, doesn't that sound great. The luxembourgish player community is simply that way. We started the registration at 9:50 a.m. on Sunday 3 rd may 1998, by 10:25 a.m. 31 players had registered to compete in what was going to be the first luxembourgish national championship ever. We planned to play five rounds of swiss (using Frank Adlers Swiss program, thanks Frank) with the top 8 playing finals. Which worked out fine Now to the decks: 29% played black in their deck, 42% blue, 32% red, 39% green, 42% white. 48% of the field played mono color decks (mostly white), 9% played 5 color decks, 3% played three colors, 39% played two color decks (most Red/Blue) Here are the final eight and the final results.(for more indepth information turn to our website at http://surf.to/mal) Champion : Romain Glodt, math professor, 32 (Mono white) 2nd place : Luc Jeangille, office worker, 40 (Donais5C) 3rd place : Daniel Gallion, student, 22 (Mono Green) 4th place : Vincenzo Latronico, student, 14 (Tradewind/Awakening, see report) 5th place : Bob Frising, student, 18 (Mono White) 6th place : Marc Davies, student, 17 (Mono Black) 7th place : Alain Gend, software engineer, 24 (Mono Green) 8th place : David Gomez, student, 18 (Red/Blue) I want to wish the best of luck to all the luxembourgish players and especially to the top four who are going to compete at the world championship in Seattle. Maacht et gutt Jongen!!!! Thank you for reading this Gerard Kraus ______________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free Email at http://www.hotmail.com
