This probibly isn't a good thing to do with little sleep but o-well. Typical Sunday tournoment 18 people I think, all the regualers are there. I get 12 hours sleep before the tournement and good meal that morning. After a fourty-five minuet drive I get there. Wow. That was boring. Remind me to get less sleep next time so it sound betters. Well, begin the foolish person that I am take my Green deck and ge ready to lose horribly. Thank you I have NO luck in any form what so ever. He shows me his hand after the game: Fireblast x4 and Furnace of Rath. Second Game: I side the Iron stars. He side nothing. I noticed that alot of red players are missing the artifact destruction lately hmm... I pull out two of stars just as I toast his second land. He burns me for a few turns (incinerate for three. OK I gain two life from it.). Untill I weeds for 7. Prompt nibbaling kills him. Third Game: This sucked. I did nothing untill turn 6 when I was down to 5 life. Then I drew a recycle. Hmmm..let's see..Recycle lotus petal, lotus petal, lay a land urza's bauble, fallow earth, creeping mold, fallow earth, llanowar elf, Iron star done. He looks at me stupidly for a few seconds before continuing with his 1 land. My two elves spanks him to death. 3-0 Hmmm, this shouldn't be happening.... Round Two: Sean ??:B/U Creature/counter First Game: One of the two cards I fear happens, twice. Dark Ritual x2 Two pump knights and a pit imp. I sigh think of a quick beat down draw my card. Sandstorm? It was impossible to keep a strait face. I actually drew a card I needed when I needed it?!?! He attacks next turn, I sandstorm the creatures away and start destroying land. Turns out that was the only swamp in his hand for 4 turns. Game Two: He gets a pit imp out and beats me outside the head untill I'm at 7. Unfortunaly he then stopped drawing wamps for me to destroy. The spare desert twister wipes the bat away and the elves start in. Third Game: I start with 2 forests, 2sandstorms, recycle, 2 wild growth. Draw:Nature's lore. Recycle on turn 4. Sandstorm away all of his creatures. Gaea's blessing the sandstorms and tost a land in turn five. When turn six produces four weeds and has lost another land he conceeds the game. 6-0 Weird, very wierd. Round Three: ?? ??:U Propaganda/orb First Game: I chuckly just loud enough for him to hear me as I keep him at one land for 23 turns, after which a lone elf kills him. He asks where y creatures are. I tell him I only have four. He comments on how I'm playing green and I must be lieing. Oh well. Game Two: Side in all my anti-blue. Scarry thing is it comes dwon to my choke keeping him from countering my Gaea's Blesings. I deck him. I get a round of appluase for that. I worry because I didn't see any LD until turn 14. Very frustrating. Game Three: I go first: Land, Lotus Petal x3 Llanowar elf, choke. He looks at his hand, shuffles though his sideboard and then conciedes. I show him my four creatures. 9-0 Hope beings to shine through the could of doubt. Round Four: Tom Debonich:5CG First Game: He slaughters me. I'm at -3 on turn 4. Damn overrun. I thought I was the only one who played that in Ohio.... Second Game: Him Quirion Ranger. Huh. Oh well. I LD and returns it to his hand. Repeat the cycle for the 4 turns. I lay a Recycle and ask if he wants to conciede. He says no way, I haven't destroyed one of his lands. I look at his side of the playing field. Funny it looks pretty land less to me. There is a quirion ranger though. We play the land bounce game some more until I weeds for 9. He still forces me beat him up. Third Game: Neither of us goes very fast this time. I eventually get out a recycle and take control of the board through Desert Twister and Gaea's Blessing. I think I gained around 23 life w/ the Wooden Sphere I layed out in turn 3, allowed me to survive 2 overruns. 11-1 Oh my god. I'm fighting for first in the final game!!! Final Round: Mat ??: U/w Game One: LD from turn one. He never sees two lands. Biggest treat was a Tundra wolf. He does and immense amount of side boarding and shuffling o I assume that his deck screwed him over. Second Game: My deck chokes untill I'm at 1 life from a Cloud Chaser. Recycle comes out. Land comes out. Desert Twister the Bird. Lotus Petal, Wild Growth, fallow earth, Gaea's Blessing. As it happens he never drew another card except for the same Island for the rest of the game thanks to Gaea's Blessing and Mirri's Guile. Thrid Game: Repeat of Game 1 but add a recycle. I would like to have said what his deck did, but I never saw it do anything other than the Chaser Eagle and few discarded cards. Looked like some sort of Phaseing deck. 14-1 First Place. Neato. Prize? Free entry to next week's tournement,and a colage of starts/boosters. Everybody I played keeps asking what sight I got my deck off of. Hmm, the information age seems to be dulling creativity. I get to take credit for making the deck. Free entry to next weeks tourny is nice, but I doubt that I'll drive out since this isn't my normal tourny scene. Green almost sweeps a tourney? With a creature poor deck? My my. Now for my next trick I will get DCI to unban Channel.... Highlights of the day: Against the Guy with the prop/orb deck: I gaea's blesing for three cards. That gives me 4 in my library and 1 in yours. Done. From Tom: Quit Desert Twistering my birds. They don't like it. (Sounded a lot funnier when he said it.)
