Report from indy:

Before I get into the report. Have to tell you the history of what led to this
tourny.  I knew that jank was going to win the PTQ in indy.  I knew I had to
play something that can handle any deck plus jank and I decided instead of
playing blue for frentics why don't I play green for the erhnams.  I mean come
on I would take an ernie over the frentic anyday.  so the twist I play with
this deck unlike any other jank deck I ever read about was the use of geddon
in it.  As you will see through my report geddon sould be in all jank
decks:-).

   This was also the first tourny that my team was competing in too.  we
called ourself team B-Town. WE have 8 on it if my memory serves me right and
this is another thing you will see that I'm very happy about although I didn't
accomplish what I wanted in the end.

It was saturday morning me and a  couple of my team members left my place to
head to the tourny were the rest of them was going to met us on the way over
it the Quialty Inn I get pulled over by a cop. I guess I blew right by him on
the intersatate and didn't even know it. when I pull over  he pulls right
besides me.  Luck for me I guess he was off duty and told me that I was doing
an 87 in a 55 what I kinda got smart back out him becasue I never did over 75
cops just get mad when you blow right past them.  so he just gives me a verbal
warning and we are back off to the tourny.  We get their about 8:30 we
rigester and what for play to start

Well  pairings came up,  and I've been wiating for this for a month with this
deck I think I can make to the final 8 with no problemsso I set down to my
first opponent.  Now it is time for the report.  My deck listing will be at
the end.

Round 1:  My opp. was Aaron hutsman playing stompy.

     Game 1:  He gets out some creatures quick on me  I get a priest out on
the second turn but it can't block his cretures but on the 4th and 5th turn I
get out 2 erhnams I geddon on the 6th turn  all that was all she wrote he
never gets another land and the priest with ernie by he side crush the winter
orb

     Game 2:  I get 2 prest and a white night out aI waste his first land.  he
never caught back up in land  I win easily.

1-0  2-0

Round 2:  I play David Underwood playing a Proporb deck.  this was the only
deck the gave me a real scare all day.  But david was a great guy to talk to
we talk for a little bit before the game and we both ask how our first match
was and after I told him how I handle stompy  he called me Mighty Jeff for the
rest of the day.  I got a real kick out of it.

   Game 1:  I get some quick creatures out and do some good damage but david
lay down three propagandas on turn 3,4, and 5.  so I was desperting looking
for my arua or disenchants. never found them and by the time I did he had me
lock down and miser's cage finally kills me in the end.

   game 2:   I sided in three pyros and 2 arua form the side.   We both get
bad starting hands and both decide to take a molligan.   which I'm glad I did
I had to aruas in my opening hand and drew the 3rd one on my first draw.  turn
two I us a lotus petal and my to lands to cast the first one.  he has to force
it.    turn three I try to play another one he counters that one but when turn
4 came he had no answer for the 3rd one.   that what one this game for my  it
cost him to much to lay any of his enchments and artifacts out so byt the time
he had the many out to lay anything down I kill him with my winnies.

   Game 3:  I waste his first land and that what one the game for me.  He only
had two land in play from their on out and I kill him with my creatures.

Round 3:  I play shane sayles and he was play your basic PT jank deck with
just a little more blue in it.

  Game 1:  he gets the jump on me with creatures and evetually kills mine off
and gets the best on me with his  I hang in their for a bit but he finally
knocks me off.

   Game 2:  I get the jump on him becasue I lay down a first turn preist with
a lotus petal. the second turn I waste his land.  from their on out I get a
big creature out geddon and it was all over but game 3

Game 3: was pretty much a repeat of game two   I get the bigger cretures out
then geddon.  its unbeivable how geddon shut down the basic jank deck.

Round 4:  I play Jacob Condis and he was playing a control cap deck with a
digger can;t eally say what his deck really did becasue I didn't see much of
it.

Game 1:  I get quick  creatures out.  he gets a browse out I was like what is
he doing playing that in a deck.  when he taps out from playing browse I
geddon and it was all over he never got back into thew game.

Game 2:  I waste his land right off the bat.  and that was pretty much it  I
got quick creatures out and nothin he can do but watch them pick him apart.

Round 5 I play David Sellers with a vineyard strombind deck.

   game 1:  I got three preist out and even though he got strombind out the
preist ate him up for lunch because they wasn;t afraid of the big bad strom.

   game 2:  he sides out the strombind and buts in blood moons  now this is
one card that can hurt this deck  when you tithe you better make sure you get
a basic plain not duels:-)  he gets a blood moon out on me  I didt have a
tithe or a basic plain but I did have a disenchant but not much its going to
do for me with a white soruse by the time I draw a plain he has to many
creatures and nothing I can do becasue he has havoc out there too. I lost

   game 3:  I waste his first land which really hurt him.  he only had one
land for the rest of the game except towards the end.  when he finally gets
out the vineyard but by that time I have to many creatures that dance around
his life and taking it away.

5-0  10-3

Round 6: I finally meet up with a team member we were both undefeated so we
decided to take a draw  by this time there was only for of us left undefeated
and the other two besides me and my  team mate were playing each other.

5-0-1  11-4-1

round 7  I have to play the guy that won the last two guys that were
undefeated so all I have to do is win and I'm in the final 8.  I play Jeff
Cosgrove which was playing the W/R/G jank without the geddons.

   game one:  he knicks me away but I finally get the upper hand on creatures
I geddon  it was over after that

    game 2:   we trade wasting lands I wast his second one  I finally get a
erhnam and a presit out when he has no creatures I geddon but he plaw them
both in responce he I though I had the upper hand and he plaws my wonder
parade.  I figure he might plow one but not both so it was a race who got land
first and creature which I did and easily pick his life away from there on
out.

6-0-1 13-4-1

SO I'm in the final eight no matter what happens in the next round  all that
natter now was my seed.  I was 1st most of the day and was going to the last
round so a win would ensure my the top spot but that's not what happen

round 8:  pari with Kieth Keeling playing a counter post deck  it was quite
interesting  if he lost he would be out of the top 8 but if he won he would be
in or if we drew he still would be in.  SO to me it really didn;t matter and
he decides that it would best to take a draw to ensure he gets in.  which was
cool to me becasue he was a nice guy and if I did win that round I would hate
to have knock him out.

so my final record was 6-0-2 14-5-2.  I was the only person that went
undefeated through tthe tourny which what I wanted to accomplish  MY goal was
to get into the final eight which I did but now I had confidnce in my deck
that I was going to LA.  When the round was over I was surprise to learn that
not only me made it in the top 8 but so did 2 other team members made it as
well.  I felt good about that too.  our first team competition and we get 3
members in the top 8   Team Btown was on the Beat down:-)

I get the number 2 seed though  becasue someone finish 7-1 which gave them
more points to me but that was okay I wasn't sweating it but again in indy 6
of the 8 decks were a version of jank.  the other two was a counter post and
U/G beebop deck

so th Qfinals were under way and again I have to play jesse this time because
we can not take a draw he was playing the beebop deck was surprising to me did
so good. it was a last minute deck that I help him make. and did quite well

Game 1:  I get the quick creature out.  erhnam comes out with a wildfire  then
geddon its all over.

game two was the pretty much the same I guess it was my creature that was
doing the dancing and not his:-)

Now I'm in the semis  one game from going to LA.  I have to play Jeff Cosgrove
again.

Game 1:  he gets the quicker creatures out this time and he gets 2 erhnams  I
have no answer and take a loss in the first game.

Game two I get cretures out the first three turns he has no answer I get the
best of him  I take game two.

the final game,  one win from LA.  I get a great opeing hand  I wast a land I
get the cretures rolling and finally I'm at 26 life and he is a 13 but then my
deck finally fells me.  all day long I never got mana screw either way from
not drawing it or just draweing it  finally he gets two cursed scrolls out I
get rid of one finlly the board is clear from creatures.  so tonf by round he
kncoks my little creatues of with the scroll where are my wildfires or erhnams
at finally he starts picking me away with the scroll.  I start drawing land or
some type of mana source.  he gets a lion out. mine I geting down to 18 16 14
life. and for 8 straight round I draw nothing but land, petel or tithe. and
that did me end and all I think I need nad one big creature and I would have
got it but you can;t win them all I congrat the other jeff though he a great
guy

so him and Paul Bagely bith make it to the finals and they both spilt the
prize and going to LA.   I wa a little upset though I mean you hate to see
that happen  its a magic player's nightmare when you need things that count.
so again Jank version took Indy again.

I was proud though  team did great and I was the only undefeated guy through
the main section.  I'm just sad it how it had to end that away.  oh well he is
the deck itself

3 X Lotus Petals( you might think it sucks but it gets knights and preist out
on the first turn)
2 X Cursed Scroll (  help a little but not a lot)
3 X wastland( the best way to take control of the early game)
3 X mish factories
3 X Undiscover Paradise
4 X Plateua
4 X Savannah
4 X Plains
