Since every member who used the deck made their own changes to the deck and sideboard, this should be considered as a rough decklist. Brian Weissman played 5CA to a 5-1-1 finish at 1998 World's, earning 5CA a place in the Rath Cycle Top 8. The theme of this deck is much along the line of every other Living Death/ Recurring Nightmare deck. The main changes are the "pre sideboards", the metagame guesses that the Legion made. The main deck Scragnoth, Eagle, Altar, and Coffin Queen are examples. Wood Elves and Rampant Growth turned out to be far more effective than Harrow and Hermit Druid, providing for a faster acceleration of mana (and thus game control) than the average Living Death deck. The downside of this innovatk. The downside of this innovation was the relative lack of ability to fetch Swamps from the deck. The "pre sideboard" cards made a tremendous difference in the first games of some matches, even allowing a Humility/Prayer locked Manuel Bevand to win a game with a Living Death - milling his opponent for 48 the turn before Manuel was to die to a Grindstone. If I had to make any changes, I would remove a Living Death in favor of a Mindless Automaton. This deck is less about Living Death than it is about Recurring Nightmare, and with only 4 ways to discard creatures to the graveyard, it is possible to wind up with a Recurring Nightmare in play and a hand full of uncastable creatures.
