Subject: Deck for the Workshop Date: Tue, 30 Dec 1997 17:04:27 -0500 From: Justin Polin To: fkusumot@ix.netcom.com Here it is, the long-awaited: Propaganda Lockdown v2.0 Lockdown: 4 Propagandas 3 Winter Orbs Beatdown: 2 Rainbow Efreets 2 Man-O'-Wars 3 Suq'Ata Firewalkers Card Drawing: 3 Ophidians 4 Impulses Counterspells: 4 Counterspells 3 Dismisses 3 Power Sinks Mana Sources: 18 Islands 3 Quicksands 4 Mind Stones 4 Sky Diamonds Sideboard: 4 Hydroblasts(bye-bye sligh/burn) 3 Chills(bye-bye sligh/burn) 3 Puppet Strings(I hate Scragnoth) 3 Dream Tides(I don't like Centaurs very much either) 2 Sleight of Minds(Just in case) This deck, as mentioned before, had a significant problem with 5 color green and sligh. The addition of 3 Suq'Ata Firewalkers has changed the deck completely. They changed the deck from pretty good to absolutely dominant. The sideboard has been finetuned(with 3 puppet strings and dream tides scragnoths and centaurs are hosed) and is fully functional(I think). This deck consistently beats sligh the first game, and is the only counterspell deck which I have ever seen do so. The sideboard makes the game no match. I have pretty much eliminated all the weaknesses in my area, but there are still a couple of question marks. I lost in three games to a Air Elemental/Illusionist Control deck used by Don Lewis(magic-player extraordinaire), but only due to my stupidity, without which I would have beaten him 2 straight. Also, my friend's cheese merfolk deck gives me some problems because of unstable mutations(very, very underused in T2). But his is the only one I've seen, so that really isn't much of a problem. As usual, all feedback and comments are welcome. Justin Polin acesmasha@aol.com
