Subject: Sir-Corpse-A-Lot Date: Wed, 24 Dec 1997 11:10:41 From: "Noah Weil" To: fkusumot@ix.netcom.com For the last two weeks, I've played the same deck at the local T2. It's a black recursion deck, based on Medallions and Tempest buyback. It wins. A lot. Well, it can win. It's been known to achieve victory on your opponants mana screw. But regardless, it's a lot of fun and surprisingly effective. We have named it "Sir-Corpse-A-Lot" 4 Black Knight 3 Order of Stromgald 4 Nekretaal 4 Bottle Gnomes 3 Biskellion 2 Rats of Rath 2 LORD OF THE PIT!!!!! (clincher) 4 Jet Medallions 2 Disturbed Burial 2 Corpse Dance 3 Agonizing Memories 3 Drain Life 2 Diabolic Edict 3 Quicksand 3 Wasteland 17 Swamp Notes: The only cards that really hurt are Winter Orbs and Centaurs. The Rats are usful in so many ways, but the most common is anti-capsize and keeping stuff around after Corpse Dance. Remember, no summoning sickness, so biscuit away. Don't be afriad of the Pit Lord. I've really won every time it's hit the table. With nigh-infinite critters, his upkeep shouldn't be a problem and on the unlikely chance it is, just Rats him away. You can always bring him back later. Finally, this deck slaughters sligh. I mean just breaks it in half. Not even counting all the first striking, Card Advantage, infinite Bottle Gnomesm Lord of the Pit makes them shed a little tear. Truly amusing. Sligh = bye Here are the rounds I played at the last one, briefly Round 1 Andrew 5CG G1: should win but I don't G2: he top decks a monkey to pop the disk that seals my fate. Ouch 0-1 Round 2 Doug 4CB G1: I laugh at his early LD, and come in for the kill G2: I continue laughing, and Lord of the Pit does his thing Round 3 Mark 5CG G1,G2: he was mana screwed both games and my wastelands didn't hurt (me) Round 4 Brian B/R G1: funnest round I had all day. He's playing burn, good creatures and Gravediggers! Things slow down, but my bottle gnomes nullify his burn, and Lord serve it up when I have superiority G2: pretty much the same as 1. I find out afterwards he's playing 4 Deliriums. Ouch! Round 5 Tom Bloom We draw in as we're guarnateed final 8. Good thing, cause I wasn't expecting Bloom Final 8 Derek 4CW G1: pretty cool deck. Our knights pass each other by, but my Bottle Gnomes and Quicksands keep me alive long enough. Barely G2: My Cursed Scrolls I sided in show up and I start popping knights. I pretty much have total control. Final 4 ??? Lauer's old Necro G1: Mana screw, ouch. However, the only answers this player has for Corpse Dance is discard, so I'm feeling pretty confident G2: My opponant gets screwed, I move in fast G3: We both get screwed (whee!) but my esteemed opponant recovers faster, and double rituals out a drain for the win. Agonzing Memories is amazing against Necro. Anyone who wants to play the deck, good luck. Noah Weil DCI# 9377 [Snappy quote]
