Subject: Reap some more --- The Lion Reaps Tonight Date: Sat, 20 Dec 1997 15:37:28 -0800 From: Patrick Donovan Newsgroups: rec.games.trading-cards.magic.strategy Yes... the person who brought the Peace Talks innovation (?) to the Reap engine has yet another idea... Lion's Eye Diamond (Admit it, you knew it had to be good for something. :) ) With a Reap and a Diamond in the Grave, and one of each in your hand, and 2 Appropriatly laced lands, you get infinite mana. Drop your Diamond, Reap, in response sac the Diamond for GGG, grab the Reap and diamond from the graveyard, repeat. Eventually you will have enough mana to reap back whatever cards you want, or change mana to any color you want. Pull a fireball from the graveyard and call it a night. But wait there's more... How about a turn 3 kill? Here we go. Turn 1- Play Island (Or other land that produces U), Lace opponent's land on his turn. Used 2 of 7 cards Turn 2- Play forest (Or other green producing land), Reap back the Lace. Used 4 of 8 cards, and have the Lace again Turn 3- Play a land, drop 2 Diamonds, Lace a land, Reap the other Reap (and the Lace if you want it), sac the Diamonds in response (Used 8 of 9 cards, other went to the graveyard.), and go into Diamond reap mode. Eventually, reap back the other card and kill with it (If an X-spell), Find the X-Spell (With Intuition or Impulse), or recasting that spell until you do achieve kill. Here's a draft of the deck for those who can't figure it out by themselves. 4 Reap 4 Prismatic Lace 4 Lion's Eye Diamond 4 kill spells (X-Burn, Bolts, Inspiration, something that with enough mana and uses will kill opponent, leaning towards Inspiration some other force-to-draw card for the obvious combo fetching uses) 3-4 Impulse \ 3-4 Intuition >Where is that dang thing?? 3-4 Mystical Tutor/ 4 Counterspell \ 3-4 Power Sink >Don't hurt me!! 2-3 Peace Talks / (Still like Peace Talks. Thinking about 86ing it for more kills, maybe Incinerates to get creatures if I need to) Add land to taste, I suggest Gemstone Mines for the nice multi-mana, and you'll NEED it.
