Subject: Revolting Mists-Another Annoying Deck Date: Fri, 19 Dec 1997 22:33:40 -0500 From: eeyoo Newsgroups: rec.games.trading-cards.magic.strategy Well, here's my version of the Natures Revolt-Pendrel Mists deck. Most people seem to have attempted to add white to theirs for Wrath and geddon, but I find the deck to function better on just 2 colors. The principal is simple-drop Revolting Mists with at least one mana producing artifact on the board, then attack with your lone land for 10 turns while your opponent sits there contemplating ways to get even with you later. Green 3 Root maze (slow down opponent, helps with lock) 3 Nature Revolt Blue 4 Impulse 4 cspell 3 mem lapse 3 Sink 4 Mists (natch) Artifacts 4 Worb (see root maze) 3 Sky Diamonds 3 Moss Diamonds 2 Lotus Petals (what're those proxies for? Nothing, Jr.) Land 4 Gemstone 2 City of Brass 2 Skyshroud Forest 8 Islands 6 Forests +2 slots I can't settle on. Boomerangs, gaeas blessing, Wall of Roots? In case you don't get it, Mists give critters an upkeep cost. Revolt makes lands into critters, and you can't use the ability of something with an upkeep cost until the cost is paid. Also, land gets summoning sickness just like mana elves, and so can't be used the turn it's played even if the root maze isn't out. So the turn after you lay the combo, all your enemy's land and critters die, and he never gets more. You simply pay the upkeep on a single land with a diamond, and attack him till he's dead. Oh yeah, that's right. Opposing mana producers are bad for this deck, therefore the last slots must be filled with boomerangs. Alan Webster Killing guys with Forests for almost five years
