Subject: Deja Vu Date: Fri, 5 Dec 1997 03:51:38 -0500 (EST) From: Eric R Reitz To: fkusumot@ix.netcom.com After a few changes and a bit of playtesting I think this deck is really ready to go. It has been playing 50% or better against the most talked about decks (stompy, sligh, big blue, 5Cx, Black control). It is basically a Ophie deck on crack. The addition of green for fast mana and more offence has made the common stall cards (man o war, time ebb, memroy lapse) into things to be feared. It is a very aggrivating deck to play against. Most of my opponents are shocked when they loose to it and think they should be able to beat and just cant figure you why they lost. Then I show them that in a 8-10 turn game I used 4-5 stall cards meaning they lost about half thier turns. The elephants and the wurms have been nicknamed the proactive counter spells due to the fact that they seem to draw creature removal just before the Ophie hits the table. The deck commonly gets to 6 mana before its opponent gets to 3 and usually outdraws the opponent at least 2 to one, or at least draws new cards at a 2 to 1 ratio. 4 llanowar elf 4 rogue elephant 4 harvest wurm 4 ophidian 4 man o war 4 time ebb 4 memory lapse 4 fallow earth 4 harrow 2 capsize 2 creeping mold 4 gemstone mines 10 forest 6 island As of yet there is no sideboard, but I dont see me going to a tourny anytime soon. Some cards I am still experimenting with are: booby trap, wand of denial, precognition, and power sink. Eric R Reitz
