Subject: Humble Prayer Date: Mon, 1 Dec 1997 23:53:57 -0800 (PST) From: "'Anakin' Bryan Chow" To: fkusumot@ix.netcom.com Here's a Deck that fairs pretty well against most decks. Even went on to beat ProsBloom. Anyways, here's the deck, and any and all response is welcome. 4 Humility // What the deck is all about 4 Orim's Prayer // The second half of the lock 4 Counterspell // Countering Burn which HURTS this deck 2 Dismiss // Late Game Counter, drawing a card is always nice 4 Dissipiate // Yet another counter, great against Hammers 2 Memory Lapse // I think by now you've determined that Counters = good. Memory Lapse can have an Abeyance-like effect. Works wonders with the millstone. 4 Wrath of God // This deck is creatureless, so cleaning board is always a good idea if the lock doesn't come out. 2 Millstone // Decking is the way to win with this deck... 3 Enlightened Tutor // Now where is that Humility\Orim's Prayer\Millstone 1 Mystical Tutor // Getting a counter is always handy, or the WoG 4 Impulse // All around good card. 2 Disenchant // Lots of Worbs around. DIE WORBS!!! 11 Plains 11 Islands 2 Undiscovered Paradise // Good for color screw, and against Worb 2 Adarkar Wastes // Also helps color screw. Basically, you want to get out the lock as soon as possible and then start milling them to death. The counters and memory lapses help delay them for a while, and the Wrath of God cleans house if you're being swarmed. Best to keep at least one Humility and one Orim's Prayer just in case you can't counter their Disenchant or Disk. Sideboard: 3 Abeyance (vs. Blue and ProsBloom) 2 Aura of Silence (vs. other enchantment decks and ProsBloom) 2 Chill (Die, red, DIE) 3 COP: Red (again, DIE RED DIE) 1 Mystical Tutor (let's go fetch those disenchats...) 2 Disenchant (against enchantment/artifact decks) 2 Hydroblast (DIE RED DIE number 3) Have fun!
