Subject: [Deck] The 6 Threes, plus a Four. Date: Mon, 1 Dec 1997 23:07:05 -0500 From: Jon Yurek This is kind of the same deck as I posted last time, however, this has a few changes. I played and played and played the other one, made tweaks here and there, and eventually, the soul got drained from it. It wasn't pure anymore. The draws started to suck, and the backup didn't come when needed... So, the night before I rethough the principal I used when I wrote the deck the first time... Green has a curve different from every other color. In every other color, you'd need Diamonds or Petal for non land mana, but the best of the buch are the elves and birds (Both of which I refer to as elves) and with 8 of them, you can pretty much skip the 2cc slot. So to maximize this, I thought up all the good green 3cc creatures, and put them in the deck. I was going to throw some tricks like maybe Earthcraft and Elvish Fury, but there was no room at the end. :) So, the way I figure it, this deck is the compilation of the best 3cc Green creatures, plus one 4cc, just because he's so good. The 6 Threes, plus a Four. 4 Llanowar Elves 4 Birds of Paradise 4 Llanowar Sentinels (It's fun to yell, "Cast a sentinel, grab a buddy." :)) 4 Pincher Beetles (Got sided a lot, but generally good) 4 Jolreal's Centaurs (Damn good, always. Period.) 4 Rootwalla (Fun, fun, fun!) 4 Uktabi Orangutan (The Monkies of Love, baby!) 4 Trained Armodon (He's the Little 'Don, but still solid) 4 Crazed Armodon (Ooh! Crazy like a Fox! Always welcome in my hand) 4 Overrun (31 damage in one game, baby!) 2 Nature's Resurgance (Wrath and Perish insurance, sometimes you kill creatures you draw more... I know, gasp!) 18 Forest No funny lands, no scrolls, none of anything except beatdown, beatdown, beatdown!... in the main. Sideboard 2 Cursed Scroll 2 Puppet Strings 2 Phyrexian Splicer 3 Tranquil Grove 3 City of Solitude 1 Lifeforce The Lifeforce saved me in one match, the Scrolls are just strong, and the splicer is better than you think... it rips shadow, first strike, *and* flying away... if it took flanking, it'd be sick. :) I went 4-1-2 over the day with this deck, but the draws were to a bad mistake by me right before time was called (I would have won), and to a lucky draw on his part (although he did make a mistake before that, so... I guess it balances out :))... but the loss, Ouch. :P :) The Threes (and the Four) are strong. Try it. Mercilessly Slaughters Sligh, does well vs. WW after you get the scrolls, strings, and splicers in, and the same vs. black weenie.
