On the first day Urza's Saga was released in my area, I purchased a box and saw a combo immediately that I had to try. It worked fantastically on my first few playtests, but still has a little work to be done. But I'm sending the original formula anyway. I like core ideas, and also, this will give you a chance to make your Own modifications, and add or subtract ideas from it. Here goes... 4 Peregrine Drake 4 Recurring Nightmare 4 Whispers of the Muse 4 Stroke of Genius 4 Catalog 4 Dream Halls 4 Mana Vault 2 Scroll Rack 2 Great Whale 2 Tolarian Wind 2 Forbid 4 Remote Isle 4 Polluted Mire 4 Swamp 12 Islands ----------------- This is the core deck, unchanged. It works by having a Peregrine Drake (or Great Whale) in your graveyard, which is accomplished Easily when the deck has four Catalog, four Dream Halls, two Tolarian Wind, and two Forbid. And then getting one into play- again easy with four dream halls that can come out so easily with mana vaults. Once you drop the second Peregrine, it untaps five lands. Use three of that mana to play a Recurring Nightmare. Use the peregrine in play, and the one in the graveyard to continually recast Recurring Nightmare, untapping 5 lands- enabling you to add two Extra mana to your pool each time. You can then use Whispers of the Muse to draw up your library if you need to, or go directly into a Stroke of Genius for, oh, say, about 200, on your opponent, drawing them out. Remember to use whispers until you have that AND a forbid in your hand just in case something goes wrong. And be careful how you use your Dream Halls. This Could be problematic against another Blue player. The Catalogs are a very useful card in the deck. Use it on the end of an opponent's turn, and discard a Drake or Whale, while getting more options as well. This is also the case with the two Tolarian Winds. It will enable you to discard a Drake or Whale and get a reloaded hand. Since the combo doesn't really take That much mana...(it can be done off of four land) The Cycling lands are a good addition. How many times have you found yourself dead, but one round away from drawing what you needed, right? It's a pretty simple combo, and it'd be easy to splash in other ideas. Like, throw in a couple Lotus Petals and a Fireball or whatever. Have fun with it! The deck isn't the real discovery here, the Engine is! Experiment, and feel free to write me with any questions or new additions you may have! Kevin Fisher -creator of Peregrine Genius *hehe* (oh, and here's another quicky deck to say "cool kid" for having even read this far. Recurring Nighmare with Preist of Gix (see the combo...?) and Pandemonium! Ouch! SIMPLE to set up too!!!!! Give it a shot! May just be a good deck too! And it's type II) ______________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free Email at http://www.hotmail.com
