Subject: Variations on popular decks Date: Wed, 7 Oct 1998 16:27:39 -0700 From: "Tim Pooley" To: [Deck] From tpooley@gte.net Tim Pooley Its obvious that it's hard to build a winning original deck for type2. In this article I will show some of the decks i made that are variations of popular decks. Ever heard of string geddon? Hated rider? Necro bombardment? These are some of the wierd decks i have made in the past month. I admit i haven't played them very much. So if you plan on using them you should tune them. This is the first article on this subject so expect a followup. In this article I will explain the the string geddon deck Lets start with string geddon. Its obvious that this deck uses armageddon. The theory is to geddon and then play puppet strings to create a wierd lock. Oath of leiges and pursuit of knowledge gets the machine back and running again. Soon after you have controlled the board you finish the opponent off with your creatures. [t2] 4 puppet strings 4 mox diamond 4 Armageddon 2 oath of leiges 3 disenchant 4 mana leak 3 hesitation 2 erratic portal 2 sibilant spirit 2 pursuit of knowledge 4 brainstorm 8 island 12 plains 2 city of brass Well thats the deck. You shouldn't use pursuit of knowledge soon. Brainstorms are there so you can find your geddon. They also work exceptionally well with the pursuit of knowledge. The sibilant spirit may seem like a bad choice but it's the only big blue flyer out there that is type2 legal. The reason i didn't use impulse or any tutors is that those sets are cycling out. I have not yet tried urza's saga cards yet so this deck may be a little weak in that area.
