Subject: Deck, "Craft Baskite" Date: Thu, 29 Oct 1998 21:36:04 -0800 (PST) From: Adam Bandurak To: fkusumot@ix.netcom.com [DECK] T2 deck, but only for a few more days, due to the fact that a key element to it is being cycled out. I won a small T2 tourney at Empire Games in Streetsville, ON with this, and it beat the weenie black, "Living Death," sliver, stupid green, and WW which prevail there. Ok then, without much further ado, here is "Craft Baskite": Land- Forests - 13 Mountains - 7 Plains - 1 21 Total Green Birds of Paradise - 4 Earthcraft - 2 Reclaim - 2 Respite - 1 Skyshroud Elves - 4 Wall of Blossoms - 4 Wild Growth - 4 Total 21 Red Disintegrate - 1 Flame Wave - 1 Rolling Thunder - 2 Shivan Dragon - 3 Shivan Hellkite - 2 Suq'Ata Lancer - 1 Total 10 White Armageddon - 2 Disenchant - 2 Total 4 Artifact Snake Basket - 4 Total Deck size - 60 Sideboard City of Solitude - 2 Desert Twister - 2 Elephant Grass -2 Jester's Cap - 1 Pyroblast - 2 Scragnoth - 2 Warthog - 2 Wildfire Emissary -2 This deck works basically by manufacturing multitudes of snakes, and winning by either beatdown by the snakes or channeling mana via Earthcraft to either type of Dragon or an X-spell, or beatdown by dragon. And it happens very fast. With a good draw, you can have a Hellkite and over twenty snakes on the third turn, winning then, or delaying to watch your opponent squirm. Even if you don't pull off the earthcraft/snake engine off the top, you can still pull out third turn Shivans or a Flamewave with almost no difficulty. And since this deck only needs one land once it gets going, why should your oppenent have more? 'Geddon. The Sideboard is most effective against WW, Blue-anything, and any kind of combo-related decks. Wildfire Emissary is virtually unstoppable against WW, save WoG, and a Cataclysm will still let it stay out, usually with a wild growthed land to out-race his Paladin. Weenie Black doesn't really need to be sideboarded against due to it's lack of Protection from Red, but the grasses and warthogs can help on a slow draw. The Cap can take care of Gaea's Blessings in those pesky Oath decks, or living deaths which rids your snakes from the game. Well, please send me some comments on the deck( as well as any suggestions as to what I should replace the snake baskets with, as they are only T2 legal for about 2 days). _________________________________________________________ DO YOU YAHOO!?
