Subject: [Deck] Running Amok Date: Thu, 03 Sep 1998 15:21:10 PDT From: "Trevor Dwyer" To: fkusumot@ix.netcom.com This deck works almost exactly like an empyrial armor weenie deck except instead of holding cards to pump a creature, you dump them to pump a creature. This works well with the scroll strategy. Vs. Sligh: Holds its own. Vs. Suicide Black: With an Amok, you can outrace them; without you are dead. Vs. Animators: Crushes most, unless they can handle shadow/flyers. Vs. WW: Same as suicide black. Vs. Countermagic: Orbs, Boil, Pyroblast rip them apart in game 2 & 3. Vs. Bounce: Ok, trouble here if they get a Rider out... Running Amok 2 Vampiric Tutor 4 Amok 2 Cataclysm 2 Firestorm 2 Disenchant 4 Mana Leak 4 Incinerate 4 Soltari Trooper 4 Suq'Ata Lancer 4 Skyshroud Falcon 2 Scalding Tongs 4 Cursed Scroll 4 Mox Diamond 3 Undiscovered Paradise 8 Mountain 7 Plains Sideboard: 2 CoP: Green 2 Honorable Passage 2 Light of Day 4 Pyroblast 2 Disenchant 1 Boil 2 Winter Orb Notes: I feel that the Soltari Trooper is the best white shadow creature for a multicolored deck because it costs 1W. I am not a big fan of Mana Leak but in this case you are controlling the mana through Cataclysm and Winter Orb so I feel it is the best choice here. Don't dump all your creatures out. One or two at a time should be the best strategy. You only have 12 so they have to count. You may have to disregard this if tongs and scrolls require you to do so.
