Subject: deck Date: Wed, 2 Sep 1998 18:17:52 EDT From: ShorinQ@aol.com To: fkusumot@ix.netcom.com Here's an interesting Bridge hybrid that I would like posted if possible, thank you. -------------------------------------------------------------------- This deck is not your standard bridge deck. Arguably it plays pretty much the same, but there are one or two extra fun bits. If you have ever played a proper bridge deck, then this should be easilly playable and fun. Artifacts: 4 X Ensnaring Bridge 4 X Null Broach 4 X Cursed Scroll 4 X Anvil of Bogadarn 2 X Erratic Portal 2 X The Rack Black: 4 X Megrim 4 X Bottomless Pit 2 X Dark Ritual White: 2 X Null Chamber 4 X Enlightened Tutor 2 X Disenchant 1 X Hidden Retreat Land: 4 X Gemstone Mine 2 X Reflecting Pool 3 X Quicksand 6 X Swamp 6 X Plains Ok, now for the explanations of why I chose some of the cards. Erratic Portal- I love this card!!! It was put in to piss of creature/ WOrb decks by making them waste their creature/ articfact mana to keep them in play. Also, it surves as an anti- Tradewind Rider card, alibite not greatly. Its mainly not essential to the deck's integritty but it is a fun card against many decks. Anvil of Bogadarn- Duh. This card makes you opponent take more dammage from the megrim. Only Two dark rituals- This deck really doesn't need to speed of BBB, but early on it can be more useful than another setup card. Now for the big question: Why is this guy crazy enough or stupid enough to use white in a bridge deck? Is he a total idiot or a genuis? Examine my reasoning to find out. Null Chamber- This card is one of the most underated card in Mirage. While it may hurt you if your opponent know what to expect from you deck, if played at the right time, its devastating. Once it gets a Broach in play, this deck can sit pretty, and not worry about anything except Uktabi Orangutangs or Blessing recursion. So, essentially, you ban them for the match. Sure you lose either Megrims, but you still have the cursed scrolls, or vice versa. Do NOT play this until you have both a bridge and a broach in play or your opponent could negate your entire deck. Enlightened tutor- This card lets you go and fetch anything thats in this deck except dark rituals, disenchant, land, or another tutor, all told, you have a choice between any of 29 cards (I think). Better than his vamperic cousin because, hey, you don't take dammage, wuhoooo!!! Disenchant- This card pulls double duty. As usual, you can use it to rid yourself of your opponents enchantments and artifacts, especially cursed scrolls and racks. If you run into another bridge deck, the two disenchants should give you an advantage. They also can be used to elliminate your Null Chamber if/ when it becomes inconvenient. Hidden Retreat- Not only does it protect you from all sorts o' nasty spells, but it makes the bridge possible. You see, last time I checked, you can rid yourself of your hand any time an instant or sourcery is cast, even if it doesn't deal any dammage, thus making the bridge uasable. ok, thats the deck and my comments. It works wonders in fun games. It kicks but in small tournaments, but has yet to be tested in anything big. I'm not typing in the sideboard, just in case any o' you smart people use it so I can kick your a$$. Bye people, J Andrews ShorinQ@aol.com
