Subject: TSE Deck Submission Date: Sat, 25 Jul 1998 21:25:21 +0100 From: "Ian Gianni" To: [DECK] Hi Frank Deck: "THE SWAP", TSE format I have noticed a lack of TSE constructed decks so I decided to submit one. I called it "THE SWAP" because after a game U can swap in all your sidebord and change its strategy. Here it is: 4 Counterspell 3 Mana Leak 3 Forbid 2 Dismiss 4 Whispers 2 Meditate 2 Intuition 4 Propaganda 2 Legacy Allure 3 Erratic Portal 3 Grindstone 4 Bottle Gnomes 2 Silver Wyvern 22 Islands So it is a simple control deck that tries to keep you alive while U deck your opponent, in case of need the Wyverns should provide some good beatdown. Here is the sideboard: 3 Mind Over Matter 4 Curiosity 4 Rootwater Hunter 2 Manta Riders 2 Cloud Spirit The Idea is to remove the following cards: 3 Grindstones 2 Legacy Allure 4 Whispers 3 Erratic Portal 2 Meditate 1 Forbid And put in the whole sideboard. 4 Counterspell 3 Mana Leak 2 Forbid 2 Dismiss 2 Intuition 4 Propaganda 4 Bottle Gnomes 2 Silver Wyvern 4 Rootwater Hunter 2 Manta Riders 2 Cloud Spirit 3 Mind Over Matter 4 Curiosity 22 Islands Now the deck relies now on a totally different strategy, it is to put out the combo: MOM + Curiosity + Rootwater Hunter The big number of creatures should give the opponent enough to worry about while U wait to get the right cards. The counters and the Propagandas should help to keep U alive. The Intuitions can really help because we have all the combo cards at least x3. I had not playtested it, nor I am a regular player, so probably the deck needs a lot of tuning, I am not sure if it can become a good tournament deck in the TSE environment, so I would like to see comments from the other players. Lotta credits to C.Nicoloff and Weissman for creating the !!BEST!! T2 deck to date, I tried to make a personal variant of their "The T2 Deck" but it seems perfect as it is, every small change I tried simply made it less effective.
