Subject: re: 2 exodus decks for work shop Date: Thu, 2 Jul 1998 02:26:08 -0400 (EDT) From: Gregory Caldwell To: fkusumot@ix.netcom.com These two decks are meant to abuse two cards that are expensive to cast but powerful, anarchist and scrivener. The idea is to never have to cast them outright. These decks are a lot of fun but repesent new technology, I haven't seen anything quite like them. Deck 1: Recurring Warp creatures: 3 Mind Maggots 3 Scrivener 4 Anarchist 4 Bottle Gnomes spells: 3 goblin bombardment 3 recurring nightmare 3 living death 3 time warp 3 corpse dance 4 intuition 4 helm of awakening land: 1 bad river 1 rocky tar pit 3 reflecting pool 1 gemstone mine 1 undiscovered paradise 1 rootwater depths 1 cinder marsh 1 underground river 1 sulferous springs 2 caldera lake 1 mountain 5 island 5 swamp The idea is simple. Get the scriveners and anarchists in you graveyard asap. Try to get the scriveners out first so you can get you intuition back. Use recurring nightmare for this and corpse dance. Don't bother paying the buyback you'll get it back. Ultimately you want to living death and then get all sorts of sorceries and instants back in your hand. Usually you can start time warping, on turn 7 or 8. The mind maggots are to help getting rid of scriveners and anarchists in you hand. The bottle gnomes are for extra life neccessary until you stabilize. Goblin Bombardment keeps the creatures in you graveyard and not removed from the game. deck 2: oath/warp creatures: 4 anarchist spells: 3 oath of druids 4 gaea's blessing 3 time warp 4 impulse 4 intuition 3 memory lapse 4 counterspell 3 dissipate 1 jester's cap 3 altar of dementia land: 1 undiscovered paradise 1 gemstone mine 4 reflecting pool 3 forest 15 island This is a lock deck to try and and run your opponent out of cards by giving him no more turns past turn 5-7. The counterspells are intended to slow him down, but they are irrelevant to the warp engine and could be substituted for more ideal cards. Anyways play the oath, and the altar, then during your upkeep go for the anarchist and when he comes into play pluck a time warp, sack the anarchist to the altar cast time warp and repeat. Gaea's blessing helps keep the engine going. The cap is to eliminate your opponent's gaea's blessings. This deck could be altered to abuse other cards. i.e. 1. scrivener/reins of power 2. anarchist/wrath of god 3. anarchist/peace talks Anyways have fun trying out these decks, I know I will. Let me know what you think, plus offer any suggestions. Greg Caldwell
