You'll note that there are no Scrolls of Doom in this deck, nor are there any Wastelands. This deck is so fast and furious (with an average casting cost of just 2.44) that the Scrolls actually aren't useful. Also, unlike a lot of fast red decks, I haven't included Jackal Pup. This does mean you are vulnerable to Extinction but, by the time your opponent has played (a) five lands or (b) two lands and a Ritual, you should have between 3 and 5 Gobbos in play and be beating him down. Remember - play the King as soon as possible, and the Coat of Arms as well. The King gives your troops +1/+1 while Coat of Arms gives your troops +X-1/+X-1 (where X is the number of creatures of the same type in play - so your five 1/1 gobbos become 2/2 gobbos off of the King, and then gain an additional +4/+4 from the Coat of Beatdown and, as far as I know, the Coats are cumulative so that the second one in play also gives your troops +4/+4. (Anyone fancy 10/10 goblins?) And the Kings are cumulative as well. Rage one of your now 11/11 gobbos and wade in for 13/13 damage. You might want to include a quartet of Erratic Portals in your sideboard. Although a little expense, these allow you to retaliate against Blue-Bounce by bouncing THEIR cards for a change! If anyone has any thoughts on improving this deck, would be delighted to hear them. Paul Foster.
