This ensures you aren't stuck with Edicts when the opponent is creatureless. They will serve(as Wakefield likes to call it) and provide a secondary function. Cards like Carrionette, Keeper of the Dead and Blood Pet are examples. Blood Pet/Keeper is a combo that will work very well if needed. Culling/Keeper during an assault to remove a blocker followed by Hatred to wreck someone's day. Stronghold Assassin could be used with Keepers and Carrionettes for complete creature control, but you lose focus on the swift beat down of Suicide. A side note on Hatred: It isn't necassary to risk the game with an 18 point Hatred unless it is a sure thing (pretty easy in the format though). A third/fourth turn 8-10 point Hatred is probably all that will be needed. 2-3 Culling of the Weak could be added for those who want as swift a finish as possible via Hate-Red. Play this card smart, your opponent should be at your mercy when you play it (tapped out, empty hand, no avenue for a draw, etc.). It is a swift finisher and can ensure your opponent has little set-up time. Sideboard: 2 Thrull Surgeon 4 Coercion 2 Bottomless Pit 2 Perish 2 Dread of Night 3 Wall of Souls Thrull Surgeons and Coercions vs. Buyback and Light of Day. The Surgeons allow you to keep a creature base high while providing the needed hand ripping Coercion ability. Coercions are still necessary for first turn hand ripping when the possibilty of CoP: Black arises. A final note: Pit Imp is a worthy card vs. Bridge decks, it might not be a bad idea to supplement the deck with 2 taking out your least favorite creatures. Pit Imps along with Coercion, Surgeons, and Keepers Bridge decks will have to deck you (the hand ripping is for Corpse Dance vs. Bridge decks that utilize Bottle Gnomes/Grave Pact).
