Subject: Fade Away and Stop & Go Turbo (Deck) Date: Wed, 17 Jun 1998 15:20:44 GMT From: Njal@my-dejanews.com Newsgroups: rec.games.trading-cards.magic.strategy What does R&D smoke when designing cards? Is it imported? Is Fade Away a card that Blue needed? Compare it to Provoke, another attempt at giving removal for a color which lacked removal. Nah, it doesn't compare now does it? Fade Away isn't broken, it isn't even bent. The problem is it is Blue. Going back a few months I posted a deck I called Stop & Go Turbo. It was an updated Turbo Xerox. Now I had never been a big fan of Foreshadow and it's usefullness in the deck at times was tenuous, but at the least it milled a card and bought you a draw. It comboed off Portent and Memory Lapse for some ultimate time advantage. But you know it is the weakest card in the deck. So if you put 4 Fade Away in the deck it's just, well, strong. Here is the deck, enjoy. Stop & Go Turbo (Redux) ----------------------- 4 x Whispers of the Muse (Replace with Disrupts if you won't ever buyback) 4 x Impulse (Replace with Owls, Jamie ;') 4 x Portent 4 x Fade Away 4 x Memory Lapse 4 x Counterspell 4 x Dissipate 4 x Dismiss 4 x Waterspout Djinn 1 x Rainbow Efreet 4 x Nevinyarral's Disk 4 x Wasteland 15 x Island Sideboard: 4 x Chill 4 x Hydroblast 4 x Disrupt 1 x Argivian Restoration 2 x Teferi's Realm Final Note: If 19 land in a permission deck makes you squirm, drop something and add an island. -----== Posted via Deja News, The Leader in Internet Discussion ==----- http://www.dejanews.com/ Now offering spam-free web-based newsreading
