Subject: Exodus Stasis deck Date: Wed, 10 Jun 1998 11:38:21 +0100 (WET DST) From: Marko Cicin-Sain To: fkusumot@ix.netcom.com I'm trying to build a strong T2 stasis deck for a while, and I think that Exodus brings the card that I've missed before: Blue: 4 boomerang 2 legacy allure - good at the begining, before the lock 4 counterspell 4 dissipate 4 stasis 4 forbid - just to explain why 4: it's a clean counter, no drawback, just plain "I'll counter this" counter. It's buyback doesn't hurt you since you have the howlers down, and you draw bunches of cards every turn. 4 impulse - grab the combo 3 propaganda - you must slow your opponent at the begining 2 mind over matter - the killer card 4 howling mine 3 disenchant (you can use disempower too) 3 kismet 12 island 4 gemstone mine 4 adarkar wastes Strategy: impulse to grab the first howling mine. No matter what else you could take, the mine is the key to victory. Start drawing, drop an early stasis to slow down your opponent, ganda is also ok, legacy allure can be also anoying and stops usualy a player of playing creatures. Boomerang or disenchant the stasis to untap, drop a kismet, and eventualy drop a mind over matter, and start tapping your howling mine before your turn to draw less card then your opponent. Top-deck is almost certain. Pro et. Contra: mana curve is awfull, but I'm not good at this. A fast deck, especialy a suicide black, can hurt you. This is where the sideboard helps you. Sideboard also stinks. By the other hand, it's a neat deck for control players. Not a tourney winner in this form, anyway. Other card that could suit in the deck: fade away, only then replace forbid with powersink. Blue wrath of god is OK. Sideboard v. 0.1: 3 light of day 3 pyroblast 4 chill 2 rebound 1 disenchant 2 aura of silence
