Subject: [DECK] My First Post Exodus Deck Date: Tue, 9 Jun 1998 01:28:47 -0700 From: "Boogie" To: Been working on an post exodus deck since i've been back from the pre release. I just wanted to drop a few words about what I think will change, and what won't. I really think that white weenie/black weenie have gotten a MAJOR bump thanks to this expansion. So that's what I've worked with first. I also want to let people that read my post about orignality read about what changes I've made to my goblin deck. Dark Shadows: 4 Black Knight (obvious) 4 Dauthi Horror 4 Dauthi Slayer 4 Dauthi warlord 2 Dauthi Jackal (2/1 ... BB, Sacrafice Jackal: Destroy a blocker) 4 Camophage ( the 2/2 for black) 4 Sarcomancy 4 Cursed Scroll 4 Hatred 4 Dark Ritual 18 Swamps 2 Volrath's Stronghold I was able to build this deck with ease with my winnings from the pre release. Basically, what I've found is that it of course has a major weakness against the ensnaring bridge... BUT its usually so fast it doesn't matter. The hatred will finish ANYONE. And I've seriously considered... get this, vampire bats as a way to get around the bridge :) But, well, hatred is too good of a card to deny... and USUALLY I don't like playing with rituals.... BUT with the possiblity of 3 first turn 2/2's or a 3rd turn hatred (try that on target 5 color blue) then, well, uh... I had to include them. its only played 3 games... but its won all 3. Utility Belt: 4 White Knight (duh) 4 soltari Visionary (where did that propaganda go?) 4 Uktabi Orangutang (where did that bridge go? ALSO GETS AROUND THAT DAMN NULL BROACH! :) ) 4 Man O' War (clears the way for weenies PLUS can bounce the monkey) 4 Paladin En-Vec (thank you wotc, from the bottom of my heart) 3 Soltari Monk 4 Soltari Priest 4 Warrior En-Kor 3 Firestorm 3 Tithe 2 Oath Of Leiges 3 Emphyrial Armor's 3 City Of Brass 3 Gemstone Mine 3 Undiscovered Paradise 9 Plains Sideboarding is very important with this deck.. including dwarven miners, and cursed scrolls. This deck has more utility than you can shake a stick at. A creature that eats artifacts, another that eats enchantments. Another that bounces creatures... I mean, well, the way it plays should be obvious. The synergy between kor and protection from X has always been great... but with the paladin, its plain abusive. A lot of people may be curious about the 9 plains instead of reflection pools but the oath of leiges is incredible. I mean, tithe may put cards in your hand, but this card deck thins just as well, also allows you to hold cards back without playing them... but I'm including the tithe's as well for additional mayhem with the Amor's. And Finally.... (drumroll please) Squee's Soup (A.K.A. This Makes Me Sick) 4 Raging Goblin (soo good... better than jackal pup) 4 Goblin Vandal (utility cards rule) 4 Goblin digging Team (see above) 4 Mogg Flunkies (fat goblins? Gotta Have!) 4 Mogg Fantastic 4 Goblin Assasin (soo cute, and what a deal for R2.. he's a 2/1) 3 Mogg Maniac =27 Goblins 3 Coat Of Arms (WOW!) 3 Fireblast 4 Incinerate 2 Mogg Infestations 2 Goblin Bombardment 15 Mountains 4 Wastelands Okay, Okay... Now, I know i'm gonna get a lot of negative feedback BUT let me tell you know. The assasin rules. So there. :) This deck can be sickening, though, I'm not sure if its tourney playability yet. It still needs something. Coat of arms is broken. Coat of arms + goblin infestation is way too broken. The deck is too fast. I mean, the raging goblin's damage really adds up quick. If you really wanna speed the deck up, try maniacal rage. This deck basically has a lot of sweet tricks that are fun to play... and I have to admit that coat of arms might be strong enough to make it tourney playable. Trade me one? :)
