And it costs 4 mana for a 3/2, which isn't horrible in blue. While there aren't all that many uses for it currently, I have no doubt that if certain types of decks come back into vogue, it'll be very popular. > > Oath of Ghouls > > Not really. This is, for general use, the best Oath out there. The chances of your opponent ever getting to use it in the right deck is negligable, and it allows you to 'draw' an additional card every turn. Maybe you haven't put it in a deck yet, but this is a basic resource along the lines of Volrath's Stronghold; little mentioned, it still creeps into decks all the time. The basic problem with the Oath of Ghouls is simply that the current vogue of black decks (Suicide Black) don't have much use for it, as they don't want games to last long enough to gain any real advantage from it. Sample deck for the reader to tweak: 4 Bottle Gnomes 2 City of Brass 1 Equilibrium 4 Forbid 3 Daring Apprentice 2 Gaia's Blessing 4 Gemstone Mine 4 Impulse 2 Intuition 13 Island 4 Man o' War 4 Oath of Ghouls 2 Phyrexian Furnace 3 Quicksand 2 Undiscovered Paradise 2 Volrath's Stronghold 4 Wall of Tears The goal is to gain 'creature in graveyard' superiority and use the Oaths like personal Howling Mines to power both Forbid and Daring Apprentice recursion. Eventually, you can totally lock down your opponent with countermagic and just cruise to victory. The major weakness is a lack of permanent removal, but this is why it's a deck to tweak, not a deck to copy. :) -Len Blado
