Subject: W/R Spellshocker Date: Thu, 30 Jul 1998 00:09:47 EDT From: Satyr19@aol.com To: fkusumot@ix.netcom.com Hey Frank. This is the first time I've tried to post a deck. I think it's a pretty good concept. I like the new Exodus card Spellshock and I tried to come up with a deck to support it. It did ok in a local Rath Cycle tourney and I hope you post it so others can comment to me on it. Well here it is: Red: 4 Mogg Fanatics 4 Kindles 4 Shocks 4 Spellshocks White: 4 Soul Wardens 4 Soltari Monks 4 Soltari Priests 2 Paladin En Vecs (4 if I had em) 2 Knight of Dawns (To make up for the lack of Paladins) 4 Shaman En Kors 4 Warrior En Kors 4 COP Reds Land: 7 Mountains 1 Scabland (More if I had em) 1 Reflecting Pool (optional.....) 13 Plains Sideboard: 4 Disenchants 2 COP White 2 COP Green 2 COP Blue 3 COP Black 2 Knight of Dawn Let me explain..... The deck is 66 cards and that is only because of the 2 nonbasics and the fanatics. I left in the fanatics to help with the wardens to get life. The main combo is the spellshocks along with COP reds. Play the spellshock and prevent damage wihle opponent loses life with casting. Even if you don't get out the combo, it works well as a W/W with some backup in red. It did well in the tourney and in playtesting. Against sligh, once you make it past the first couple of turns, you can usually get the game in a lock and win through Priest and Kors. Against Hatred or Suicide black, the shadows and DD stop any real threats. The only problems was against Bouncy Blue and another "PURE" W/W. Just no real defense in a Rath Cycle tourney and hence the sideboard of COPs. I'm not good at making one, and I only sideboarded in the Disenchants in the actual games. Anyway, please post the deck and any comments and criticism is welcome. Casey McCormick Satyr19@aol.com
