Once this has happened, every spell your opponent plays brings them that much closer to death. If the Spellshock is out along with a Tradewind and some supporters then the game is pretty much over. Also the deck features Intruder Alarm to further halt creature based decks and to allow the Tradewind to ensure that the opponent never gets another creature to stay on the board. The Bottle Gnomes support the Tradewinds, stall the opponent and lesson Spellshock’s effect on you. The land is kept to basics because of the decks easy to cast spells (none require more than one colored mana) and to avoid all the nasty non-basic land stuff out there. Whether the deck can be competitive in today’s type II environment remains to be seen, but with some fine tuning I think it has potential.
