Subject: Suicide Necro Date: Mon, 13 Jul 1998 23:16:47 -0700 From: "Joe Austin" To: All right y'all! Seems Necro has taken somewhat of a siesta as of late. I'm about to bring it back "old school" style. Forget about Hatred. This is how it's done: Suicide Necro 1.4 4 Carnophage 4 Sarcomancy 2 Blood Pets 2 Sewer Rats 3 Dauthi Horror 3 Dauthi Slayer 2 Black Knight 2 Fallen Askari 2 Erg Raiders 2 Noctounal Raid 2 Bad Moon 4 Dark Ritual 2 Culling the Weak 3 Drain Life 3 Necropotence 3 Nevinyrral's Disk 17 Swamps Creatures: I've always had the view of weenie decks, that less of more creatures is better than playing with 4 of everything that everyone else plays. The greater variety, the more overwelming and confusing it is to the opponent. Sounds dumb but it works. And if you're afraid to play with all those earthquake-prone Knights and raiders... switch then out for Foul Imps or Skulking ghosts or Fledgling Djinns. Pumpers: I've also always been a big believer that Bad Moons and Disks don't mix. This collaboration seems to work OK, but if you're really paranoid, try Scare Tactics instead. And the Noctournal Raids are anything but expected. It's a great finisher. And believe me, when it's played.... it finishes. Mana Sources: This is a speed deck. 4 rituals, period! The Cullings were experimental. They're kind of newb-ish, but in playing with them, I was taken back to the days when my "Lakes" were legal (and deadly)! As soon as I saw what they can do mid-late game, or after a disk, I had to add Drains. You don't know how good it feels to pull an 8 point Drain on turn 4 in type 2 again. Necropotence: This card IS the deck! Lay it turn 4-5. Necro back up to seven cards every turn. Beatdown with a MAD Drain and do it some more. It's funny to blow a disk and kill your necro and 5 or 6 of your creatures, and then immediatly drop 4 or 5 more! Nevinyrral's Disk: C'mon. Necro has ALWAYS needed the Disk, and ALWAYS will. The Necropotence is a WAY better card for this deck than Hatred will ever be. It's too easy to shock or incinerate in response to it. And I hear people even side in Healing Salve against it. I don't know about you, but I fear a Black speed deck that holds seven cards on turn 5 than I do some Kamikazie dipshit, foolishly squandering his life in one big chunk. Oh, and the 17 land. Too little? Hey, it works for me. OK I'll shut up now :) Joe Austin
