Subject: A Couple of Ideas Date: Thu, 2 Jul 1998 01:50:37, -0500 From: GXHC96C@prodigy.com (MR CORY N STEVENSON) To: fkusumot@ix.netcom.com Here's a couple decks I've been tooling with for a while: Vineyard'Brooch (can you see how these cards work together?) 4-Null Brooch 4-Eladamri's Vinyard 4-Cursed Scroll(duh!) 4-Scalding Tongs(ditto) 4-Ensnaring Bridge(same here) 4-Reclaim(recurring Cap is good...) 2-Jester's Cap(Orangutans...) 2-Disrupting Scepter 4-Emerald Charm (Pandemonium....) 4-Spike Feeders 2-Bottle Gnomes 4-Wastelands 4-City of Brass 2-Gemstone Mine 3-Reflecting Pool 1-Volrath's Stronghold 8-Forests Sideboard: 4-Elephant Grass 2-Choke 4-Abeyance 1-Hall of Gemstone 1-Grindstone 3-Pyroblast Blue Stuff (and yet another bouncy..) 3-Equilibrium 4-Counterspell 4-Mana Leak 4-Tradewind Rider 4-Ophidian(duh!) 4-Man O' War 2-Capsize 4-Whispers of the Muse 4-Memory Crystal 4-Fellwar Stone 19-Islands 4-Undiscovered Paridise Sideboard: 3-Chill 3-Hydroblast 3-Propaganda 3-Winter Orb 3-Disrupt I haven't thought this through much, and plus I haven't actually built this deck yet. But I work in a place with no radio or ample communication with carbon-based lifeforms so I have lots of time to think about stuff (like Magic) to try and kill some time. These are decks that I've pretty much had in my mind and memorized for lack of anything better to do. If you have any suggestions or comments about these decks I could use the criticism. Also, let me just remind some of you folks that I have tried to take in consideration most of the deck archetypes out there such as: Bloom-Drain, Sligh, Suicide Black, Pendrall-Revolt, 5Cwhatever, WW, etc. As you can obviously see that I've tried to work around some of these kinks with the sideboard and have come up with a few good solutions. Also, Wastelands are good, they are going to be as abundant as ever now that combo decks (Pandemonium...) are going to be jumping around. I've been tooling with Pandemonium, but what's the point? Everybody's going to be prepared for it so why bother? Just like Sligh, it's all about match- ups and metagame. I suck at metagame, which is why I've been trying to bend the luck factor to my favor. I'm never been one to be beneath a little helpful "Pro" advice (you know who you are). Sorry I took so long finishing this, it's been a long day. Later! Cory Stevenson "Oh my god they..." OH NEVERMIND, YOU KNOW IT ALREADY! gxhc96c@prodigy.com
