Subject: (DECK)BG : infinite nightmare Date: Wed, 01 Jul 1998 20:54:44 +0200 From: "Ralph Röschlaub" To: fkusumot@ix.netcom.com DECK: Type II It´s not a really new combo i use in this deck but the deck i have built is very strong contents : 4 spike feeder 4 birds of paradise 4 quirion ranger 1 lhurgoyf 4 uktabi orangutan 1 harvest wurm 4 survival of the fittest 4 oath of ghouls 4 necrataal 3 carrionette 3 revenant 1 thrull surgeon 1 dauthi cutthroat 1 recurring nightmare 1 cloudchaser eagel 1 tradewind rider 1 undiscovered paradise 9 swamp 13 forest sideboard : 3 bottle gnomes 4 tranquil domain 4 emerald charm 1 ravenous baboons 1 man o war 2 recurring nightmare the cards like "tradewind rider" or "cloudchaser eagel" sound strange, for i have only one "undiscovered paradise" in my deck. but it was never a problem to get them out as i can get the "birds of paradise" out with "survival of the fittest" and get them back again "oath of ghouls" again. there are four creatures in the deck and two in the sideboard that i use only once. that´s why i can use them against different decks after getting the creatures out with "survival of the fittest" and recycle them afterwards with "recurring nightmare" and "oath of ghouls". there are a lot of creatures in the deck with triggered effekts like "necrataal" and the "urangutan". these are the most powerfull in the deck. the carrionettes are cool because you can discard them to get other creatures and still use them in the graveyard ( your opponent often forgets them after a while). and the "spike feeders" are an almost infinite lifesource. i have tested the deck against various diffrerent tourmanent decks and i hav come to the following conclusion : - mono-blue counterdecks have big problems with the two main enchantments as you can get the "urang utan" to get rid of the "nevinyrral´s disk" or get back the creatures he counters. - direct-damage-or red sly-decks lose most of the games because of the "feeders" and the "bottle gnomes", that can be recycled aswell - land destruction-decks stand no chance because of the "harvest wurm", the "mana birds" and especially the "quirion ranger" the only decks that make problems are combo-decks with all the enchantments, that´s why i have that many anti-enchantments in my sideboard.
