Subject: Tradewind/Geddon deck Date: Tue, 23 Jun 1998 19:18:57 -0500 From: dgeorge642@aol.com To: fkusumot@ix.netcom.com This is my first post, and I wanted to get some reviews for a deck I'm going to take to my first Type II tournament. I've been a casual player, and am interested in getting into the tournament scene for more competition. Please email any comments to dgeorge642@aol.com. Thank you. Here is my deck, it's a basic 5cG Tradewind/Geddon w/ support from the other colors. Green 4 Birds of Paradise 4 Wall of Blossoms 2 Wall of Roots 3 Spike Feeder 1 Uktabi Orangutan 3 Geae's Blessing Blue 4 Man'o'War 3 Tradewind Rider 3 Impulse 4 Mana Leak 2 Counterspell White 3 Armageddon 2 Disenchant Red 1 Firestorm 2 Mox Diamond 1 Volrath's Stronghold 2 W/U Pain 2 W/G Pain 3 Gemstone Mine 6 Forest 3 Island 2 Undiscovered Paradise ____ 60 Cards The Tradewind/Geddon lock w/ a counter backup is game, eventually. I have not had any problems getting enough mana, I know that the land curve is not 'correct', but the birds and walls really make up for it. In play testing, I frequently get a 3rd turn Tradewind, followed by Geddon on turn four. With all of the walls, Suicide Black and Sligh have not been a problem. The sideboard should include a couple more Counterspells, and four Pyroblasts for counter wars, and at least one more Disenchant for combo decks. Other than that side for metagame in your area.
