Subject: NECRO DECK LIST- post it please Date: Fri, 12 Jun 1998 23:46:34 EDT From: Blasto12@aol.com To: dsplace@eznet.net, fkusumot@ix.netcom.com BlastoNECRO v1.2 Creatures 4 Black Knight (2/2 white weenie killer) 4 Knight of Stromgald (2/1, pumpable white weenie killer) 3 Wall of Souls (maybe one more. this card is captain intimidation) 4 Bottle Gnomes (works great with Corpse Dance/Grave Pact, and three life is nice) Card Acquisition 4 Vampiric Tutor (for what i need and cannot naturally get) 3 Necropotence (four gets in the way. three is nice) Elimination 4 Nevinyrral's Disk (if necropotence becomes less than beneficial, or if a bunch of bad stuff is going down on the other side of the table ...) 4 Diabolic Edict (i thought these sucked, threw 'em in b/c i was told to. now i love them. never unhappy to see an Edict!) 1 Grave Pact (sacrifice a Gnome, gain three life ... oh, opponent loses creature) Other Spells 2 Corpse Dance (sacrifice a Gnome, gain three life ... oh, opponent loses creature ... repeat, and repeat, and repeat!!! WOO HOO!!!) 4 Dark Ritual (so something is played first turn ... and so drain lives eat more) 4 Drain Life (self explanatory) Land 17 Swamp (black mana is good mana) 3 Wasteland (i hate 5c-anything, and volrath's stronghold, and ... everything else) Sideboard 3 Dread of Night (poop on white!) 3 Funeral Charm (clutch card with soooo many uses) 2 Perish (stompy isn't a huge threat) 1 Grave Pact (any creatures are no fun. unless they give me three life and kill my opponents creatures ... that is fun) 2 Quicksand (by ball lightnings ... and when wastelands do nothing for me) 2 Gloom (more white death) 2 Jester's Cap (i hate decks that revolve around one card ... like ... necro? damn.) That's BlastoNECRO for you. It revolves around getting your black creatures out, a wall or two, and waiting for the proper time to drain life or creature swarm. How do you creature swarm? Get the grave pact. Get a bottle gnomes into play. Have a corpse dance and five mana available? Then, sacrifice the gnomes. Gain three life. Kill an opponent's creature ... repeat. This allows your opponent no ability to block do to lack of creatures. It also allows you to draw 3 cards per turn w/o really taking a life penalty. Moral of the whole deck, don't drop a necro unless you need stuff. If you have what you think you need to win, don't play the necro. That is the whole point. The damn necro is there for you to have a way to get what you need, which is not necessary if you already are in possession of it. So, test this puppy out if you must, I have been for a while and have found it to be quite successful. Now off to the type II tourneys. Until next time ...
