Subject: Decks: Brum's Hesitant Orb Date: Fri, 05 Jun 1998 01:24:32 PDT From: "Brian Gifford" To: fkusumot@ix.netcom.com This deck was built after looking at the card Hesitation and laughing at the way the scrubs would react with a Hesitation and Worb in play. It took second place in it's first tourney, a local 20 player sanctioned T2 (swiss - cut to final eight). Black: 2 Nekrataal 4 Dauthi Horror 2 Shadow Guildmage Blue: 4 Man-O-War 4 Mana Leak 2 Memory Lapse 4 Hesitation 2 Tradewind Rider 3 Propaganda Red: 4 Incinerate White: 2 Disenchant Artifact: 4 Winter Orb Land: 2 Quicksand 4 Undiscovered Paradise 4 City of Brass 6 Swamp 8 Island Side Board: 4 Chill 2 Hydroblast match the rest to your local metagame I beat everything from WW to Bounce to SRB to Lobotomy decks (after he Lobotomized 3 Worbs out of my deck!) and finally lost in the finals to a SRB after not drawing ANY of my SB cards and one stupid play on my part. The toughest match was against a U/W/G Bounce deck that also ran a couple of Lobotomy. The way to play the deck is to lay a Hesitation followed by a Worb, then almost every spell in your deck becomes a Time Walk. The kill is usually with a Dauthi Horror protected by 1 or 2 counters or even better with a couple of Hesitations :-) This deck has superior card and turn economy against almost every deck out there, and although SRB has about a 60% win ratio the first game this deck will DESTROY it after sideboarding (assuming you draw the cards...)! WW usually deals no more than 8 - 10 damage before total shutdown, slow decks and decks that rely to heavily on Cursed Scroll are a joke against this deck. The only deck I haven't played against with this is the Turbo Zvi Bloom deck. If you play this deck in any tourneys i would appreciate it if you would let me know how it worked for you. ~Brian Gifford send all questions, comments, flames and Mox Diamonds to: Brumphry@hotmail.com ______________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free Email at http://www.hotmail.com
