Subject: Mono-Green crushes opposition

Taking up the challenge implied by Tolun and the anti-green crowd, I built a
mono-green Type II deck and tournament tuned it.  To date, it has been in
four tournaments, going 5-1, 4-1-1, and 4-2 twice for a total of 27-12 (a win
ratio of nearly 70%)

While these results are not necessarily conclusive, they do give a strong
indication that mono-green is *still* TII viable.

I've made a few changes in the deck.  Originally, it packed four Skyshroud
Troopers instead of the Llawnmowers, but the Sentinels tend to save me from
Perish.  Apes of Rath were too slow and got swapped out.  I replaced them
with Scalding Tongs, which keep my opponent from stalling me to death and
take some of the anti-artifact heat off my scrolls.  I forget what I took out
of the sideboard to put in the Natural Springs, but they saved me *twice*
from death by bolt deck.

This deck has several roads to victory--straight creature beatdown (4),
vineyard burn (2), three-creature Overrun (8), stall-Scroll-Tongs (5), and
mixed (2). (Plus four games where my opponent was mana- or color-hosed, 1
where I emerald charmed the Dream Halls in TurboZvi, and one where my
opponent had hyppies in his deck and had to forfeit.)

In 39 games, I've lost to perish twice, both from splash-black decks (5%),
recovered from Perish twice (5%), and shut black down with lifeforce five
times (14%)

Does anyone still want to argue that mono-green is "unplayable?"
