Subject: Hey Frank I have a deck for you :) Date: Sat, 4 Apr 1998 10:16:33 EST From: C. van Dijk To: fkusumot@ix.netcom.com Deck: Grave Pact Hello fellow dojo-ites :) This is one of my first dojo articles and I am writing it because I felt the need to show everyone my newest creation! This deck is based on one of my favorite stronghold cards - Grave Pact. That card has such potential...with the ever popular bottle gnomes you get to gain 3 life and also make them lose a creature...can you say "Sligh is dead?" :) Also with the underrated Tempest card Altar of Dementia you can mill cards and make them lose a creature at the same time. Finally, with the card Rats of Rath...you can destroy some creature you don't want around anymore and make them lose a creature....well by now you might be thinking how do you get all these creatures back after you sacrifice them all...well it can be achieved by using Living death but at the moment I don't have any of those (curses to you online traders who rip people off....you suck!) if you so desire to use Living death....be my guest but I feel that one card is much more potent in this situation....CORPSE DANCE! You get a creature back for only 5 mana and if it is a Gnomes you gain 3 and make them sack a creature(pending you have the pact out of course :) ) and if you have an Altar out you get a creature...you can attack and then mill cards....and now without further ado....THE DECK : A Pact with Death: 19x Swamp 3x Wasteland 3x Dark Rituals (25 mana sources, quite sufficient) 4x Wall of Souls( another sligh killer) 4x Nekrataal 4x Black Knight 4x Bottle Gnomes 2x Rats of Rath 4x Knight of Stromgald (22 creatures...a good amount...these are probably the best black creatures you can get) 2x Altar of Dementia 2x Corpse Dance 4x Grave Pact 4x Diabolic Edict (early moronic critters must be dealt with) 1x Drain Life (13 cards to make the deck happen....well the Drain Life is there because I am playing black and well...it just fits) Sideboard: This will be created at a later time....I am thinking something like Disks, Perish, Dreads, etc....typical black sideboard....come up with one yourself....sideboard is all dependent on the environment you are playing in...if you don't have any green in your area and tons of white...bulk up on the disks(this is for light of day sportsfans) and dreads...you can even play glooms if you want to(I have a Beta one and love playing with it :) ) Well any comments will be greatly appreciated. E-mail me at RoobyDooby@aol.com. Time to go now...my fingers are getting tired from typing... Yours truly, Chris van Dijk
