Subject: Geeba-196 (98x2) Date: Thu, 02 Apr 1998 09:55:58 -0500 From: Ebb Vicious To: fkusumot@ix.netcom.com hey frank, noticed a severe lack of content in the Deck Workshop so here is a decent form of Geeba98 -- post Stronghold. don't think this is quite what Jay had in mind, but i'm not a big fan of Palimud or whatnot. Comments welcome.. 2 Goblin Vandal 4 Mogg Fanatic 4 Mogg Conscripts 4 Fireslinger 4 Mogg Flunkies 2 Starke of Rath 1 Rathi Dragon 1 Goblin Bombardment 1 Mogg Infestation 4 Incinerate 4 Hammer of Bogardan 4 Cursed Scroll 4 Wasteland 4 Karpulsan Forest 1 Mogg Hollows 16 Mountain S/B: 3 Tranquil Domain 1 Tranquility 4 Pyroblast 3 Keeper of Kookus 2 Boil 1 Mogg Infestation 1 Phyrexian Furnace There you have it. A couple quick notes; Palimud sucks. I know Jay thinks it alters the way the other person plays, but it never has for me, they just giggle at it. Both of us agreed that the Lightning Elemental had to go. The Mogg Infestation is a change that we discussed, as are the Flunkies -- both have done well in playtesting. The Infestation is, as Jay put it, "a one way WoG in this deck." The 1/1 Mogg tokens can be dealt with off-handedly, either with slingers or just being blocked by Conscripts, etc. They are important for dealing with Jolrael's Centaurs -- and more importantly (since the advent of Perish makes green creatures less of a worry) -- Soltari Priests, Freewind Falcons, and the like. Which brings me to something else altogether unrelated; a prediction that WW will have a resurgance as it is the best equipped to deal with -- what i feel -- will be the new environment. I chose Keepers over Gnomes in the sideboard as a personal preferrence. They are both for against other Geebas/burn but i think the Keepers are much better -- protection from red makes them tough for the other guy to deal with. The Goblin Vandals are a necessity and i may up them to 3 and bring the Flunkies down. The Rathi and the Starkes are probably the most questionable parts of the deck, and i also thought they were stupid when first reading Geeba98 -- however they work really well if played properly. Enjoy, ...dave
