Depends on the Type you are playing.  I'll assume Extended or Type 1-ish play.

Vs weenie, you can't LD them.  Discard is not really good, either.  Vs
countermagic, though, both of these are powerful.  A VERY flexible card for use
vs both of these is Funeral Charm.  It can kill x/1 creatures and make
creatureless decks discard a card.  Diabolic Edict and Terror are also great
(Banishing can be too slow vs weenies)
Contagion, as you said, is pretty good vs weenies.  Try Dystopia vs Green and
White weenies.  Try the new Black wall (Wall of Souls).  Vise works against
Counterspell decks, while The Rack (with creature removal) can work vs weenie
decks (slows them down or kills them outright).  I would personally prefer a
"minimalist" deck, like this one:

4 Bottomless Pit
4 Cursed Scroll
1 Demonic Tutor (if Type 2, substitute Vampiric Tutor here)
1 Demonic Consultation (if Type 2, sub Vampiric here, too)
4 Pox
4 Hymn to Tourach (if Type 2, substitute Stupor here)
4 Funeral Charm
4 The Rack (if Type 2, substitute Megrim here)
4 Hypnotic Spectre (if Type 2, sub 2 Ensnaring Bridge, 2 Mind Peel here)
4 Diabolic Edict
4 Dark Ritual
4 Quicksand
18 Swamp

Heavy discard (vs counterspells), but heavy weenie removal, too (Cursed Scroll,
Funeral Charm, Quicksand, Edicts).  Idea is to get both into Rack Range, and
lock them down with the Pits (get Pits out ASAP).  Pox speeds the process.
