Subject: Merfolk Rule Blue (MOWs Help)

Here is a Cursed Folk deck that I´ve been playing here for some weeks
mowing most decks to the ground.  It´s mono blue so I can rely on few
lands. The cards are cheap to cast, and it has semi-sligh (14-22-4-2).
I have good critter denial with Allures and MOWs and the Sands help.
All these spells together control 12-16 creatures in all, 1.5 for each
Legacy and 1 for each of the others.  The scrolls are soo strong, since
I seldom have more than two cards in hand after 3rd round (and often
both counters :-). Another note on counters is that if this deck is
played, counter everything you can.  It delays and helps emptying the
hand.  And always scroll if able, especially if you have counters in
hand.  There are few things that psyches more than saying Counterspell
and showing Mana Leak.  The Opponent is guaranteed not to feel well.

Lands:
14      Islands                 I recommend countering Armageddon
4       Quicksand               See Above plus hold a few land on hand

18      Total
Remember:  Lands scroll just as well

Critters:
4       Manta Riders            Good for the Lategame Beat
3       Rootwater Divers        Counter Disenchant
3       Tidal Warrior           Islandwalk, plus screw up early game
Mana
3       Sea Scryers             Good Early Game mana, for scrolling and
Orbs
4       Lord of Atlantis                I play with merfolk, therefore I
play Lords
3       Tradewind Rider         People often concede when I get
Tradewind/scroll 'lock'
4       Man-o-War               I play blue, therefore I play MOWs

23      Total                   A lot, yes, but it is a swarm deck with
control, and the funny thing is that it´s blue :-)

Spells
4       Impulse                 I play blue, therefore yada yada
4       Counterspells           See Impulse
3       Mana Leak               Strooong, especially in fast decks like
this one
4       Legacy's Allure         With MOWs and Sands, I have good
creature control

15      Total                   Enough, just enough

Artys
4       Cursed Scrolls          G-R-R-R-E-A-T card, 1 casting cost for a
card that invariably deals 2 dmg, BROKEN card

4       Total                   No Comment

Alas, since I could not get my scroll in time for the last tourney here
in Iceland, I went with and Out-Dated Counter-Burn that I slapped
together in 20 minutes and scrubbed out at 1-3-0 :-(  The only match I
won was against a weirdo W-G-r control with Wisdoms, Blessings and
Grindstones, Ack!
