Subject: Propagression by Anthony Cantu Date: Sun, 08 Mar 1998 15:59:02 -0800 From: CanII To: fkusumot@ix.netcom.com Well, besides the Twisted Sligh deck that I will send you very soon, here is my first attempt at posting a deck on the dojo. I hope all find this deck useful in playtesting for the April 1 Standard Environment. Basically this deck is Liquid Sligh (also known by some as Merfolk Massacre) meets Propageddon. I call this deck Propagression because it gives you unbelievable control, but also an extraordinarily swift creature onslaught. There are so many good things about this deck. I've always hated playing blue for the most part because I'm simply not a resource-control-based player. I'm aggro to put it simply. Anyway, I created the embryo of this deck after tempest was released, I knew merfolk could come back alive, because they had good creatures to fit the mana curve. So i gave it a shot first with winter orb, but decided that throwing in white gave me more artifact control, plus I just go to armageddon instead of the orb. There are so many combos in this deck, backed up by six good counterspells. Try this out, its pre-stronghold version has already won me two local tourneys. Anthony Cantu's "Propagression" Deck 4 Propaganda 4 Armageddon 4 Manta Riders 4 Tidal Warrior 2 Rootwater Diver 4 Lord of Atlantis 4 Coral Fighters 4 Man-o'-War 3 Tradewind Rider 4 Counterspell 2 Mana Leak 11 Island 4 Adarkar Wastes 4 Gemstone Mine 2 Undiscovered Paradise Sideboard: 4 Chill (a no brainer, watch out for it being sleighted though : ) 4 Disenchant (another no brainer, and in case you have a sleighted chill : ) 3 Perish (Cursed Stompy and 5CG are great decks) 2 Torture Chamber (WW beware!!) 2 Light of Day (gotta do something about living death) Gotta give my friend Aaron Wayne from Team Hobo and the rest of Team Hobo back in Owensboro KY for helping to keep me interested in magic as a community-kind of activity. Team Hobo for life, baby! Any comments on how awesome (or imperfect) this deck may be, send your email to me at: acantu@cmcvax.mckenna.edu.
