Subject: Stronghold Deck Date: Fri, 27 Feb 1998 06:09:06 EST From: SnstvePoet To: fkusumot@ix.netcom.com Stronghold is a mediocre set in my opinion...but numerous cards come to mind that are definetely usable...As always...with every new set that is issued, I try to make a weenie white deck using some of the new cards...I present The Stronghold Crusade 4 Soltari Priests 4 White Knights 4 Warrior En-Kor 4 Longbow Archers 4 Soltari Champions 4 Pacifism 4 Disenchant 4 Tithe 2 Armageddon 1 Wrath of God 4 Man o' War 2 Uktabi Orangutans 3 Brushland 3 Adarkar Wastes 2 Gemstone Mines 1 City of Brass 10 Plains Sideboard....4 Hydroblasts, 2 Serene Offerings, 2 Uktabi Orangutan, 3 Phyrexian Furnace, 4 Honorable Passage....Sideboard admittedly needs some work..but it's a start.. Notes on the Stronghold cards...The Soltari Champion is tremendous...a creature and Crusade in one....he's always gonna attack because nothing decent can block him; The Warrior En-Kor are the best of these Damage Redirection types because it's the most playable, a cheap creature, only WW for a 2/2 is decent by itself, the damage redirection, especially with the Pro Red priests, and Pro Black knights, becomes a nice bonus. Another deck I threw together....not much effort on the play-testing end, but it seems to have a nice complement of Quick creatures, Control, and Permission All American Beat-Down 4 Ironclaw Orcs 4 Youthful Knights (Not as strong as his Pro-black counterparts, but only one W) 4 Soltari Emissary (Cuz it's one W to cast, and fills the curve slot nicely) 4 Man O' War 4 Frenetic Efreet 4 Mana Leak (Perhaps the best one U casting cost counter yet) 4 Disrupt 4 Shock (This one is a no-brainer) 4 Incinerate 4 Disenchant 4 Adarkar Wastes 3 Gemstone Mines 3 City of Brass 2 Islands 6 Mountains 2 Plains Sideboard pending, prolly Blasts, Honorable Passage...more Enchantment and Artifact kill... - Mark Maun
