Subject: Stronghold deck Date: Thu, 26 Feb 1998 09:30:07 -0600 From: Adam N Hein To: fkusumot@ix.netcom.com I've been looking at the stonghold spoiler for awhile now and have decided that Hermit Druid is really good. A friend of mine told me he sucked (like reap) so as always I set out to build a deck with four. Here it is. Please tell me what you think. 4 Hermit Druids 4 Spined Wurms 4G 5/4 (Phat) 4 Cravn Giants 2R 4/1 (Die easly) 4 Mogg Maniac 1R 1/1 (extra damage) 1 Cloud Chaser Eagle 2 Sex monkeys 4 Man-o-War 2 Derelor 4 Nettletooth Djinn 4 Mana Leak 4 Haunting misery 2 Fellwar Stones 4 Citys of Brass 4 Undiscoverd Paradise 4 Gemstone Mines 3 Mogg Hollows 4 Karplusan Forests 2 Pine Barrens The Idea of the deck is to play a Hermit Druid. Then when you have four mana (GBB1) use the druid to place your deck in your graveyard. Use the BB1 to cast haunting misery and kill you opponent. There are 29 creatures in the deck so you should have 20 in the graveyard. The deck also works as a slower beatdown deck. I made the deck rather hastely so some of the creatures may not be optimal but I think there is enough there that a player could pose a serious threat. I would like to replace the nettletooths with something. Their 1 damage a turn + all the pain land could add up quickly. I would like to replace two with gallowbraids but can't remember if they cosy B or BB. the other two may be replaced by orggs. Another Idea is to play all Phats. That way every time a pain land is tapped something fat is happinin' The utility critters would come out and endanged armodons would go in, nettletooths would stay, Orggs ect. The only thing with a power less then 3 would be the Hermit Druids. ------------------------------------------------------------------ All Knowing Sometimes Wrong Rarely Right Guy Who Does the Stuff...
