Brothers very Grimm

I have been playing this deck for a while now and recently took it to 2 tournys getting 2 second places. Both losses came down to one game and in one I was sitting there staring at one wasteland as my only land. The other was vs prison and i was a little mana hosed but prison is a very tough match for this deck and to be honest even on a great draw I would have had problems. Here is the deck

3 bottle gnomes
4 taals
4 black knights
4 bonedancers
2 necrosavant
1 Brother Very Grimm(morifin)
1 Other Brother Very Grimm(gallowbraid)
4 stupors
4 edicts
3 dark rituals
4 drain life
3 disk
17 swamp
4 quicksand
3 wasteland

SB:this changes a bit but basically..
3 gloom
1 dread of night
4 coercion
1 disk
3 spinning darkness
1 envicars justice
2 perish(may switch to touchstones as green doesnt hurt much and orb really screws me)

There it is..the Brothers Very Grimm. It may seem simple and but it has done very well vs many decks.Yeah I know what all the loudmouths are thinking'
"dude..you have no enchantment removal cept disks"
"you will lose to p-bloom and combo decks"
"light of day will stop you cold"

blah blah blah.Sure this deck can lose.ANY...repeat...ANY deck can lose if you play a deck that happens to be a very good match up for your deck.Necro is one of the oldest and most feared decks around..but a simple sligh deck can turn it off if they aernt careful.Heres are some good points about this deck.Tons of critter kill, and more in SB.t2 is fairly critter heavy lately although this is declining thanks to the Steely Golum which seems to be popping up in every deck. The disks are key...the old black reset button.Bonedancers work GREAT with all the removal if they can get through even once. Now the black fat. They do well for one simple reason..no one expects them and they, like the bonedancers, are a MUST deal with card.Everyone is caught up on weenies and mana effiecient critters.Thing is,I can ignore a soltari priest for a little while, unless its wearing a Maro Armor..but how long can you ignore a Gallowbraid?Or a Savant?I know they can be pacified etc.but isnt that the point? To have critters so dangerous that opp MUST deal with them?Plus all the life gain helps to feed the upkeep of the Brothers Very Grimm. For blue decks,,extremely powerful BTW..I side in the 4 coercions and disk giving me 8 discard spells and 4 disks for the diamonds, props, etc.I just try to hit them with discard as often as i can to burn counters. If they get an orb on the board OK I will most likely lose..But blue is slow and the rituals help a lot.And a bonedancered Air Elemental is always a sight to behold.Light of day is awful if it gets through but I side in 3 glooms the 4th disk 4 coercions and pray.Plus i still have my drains..

Anyhow this is the point of this whole shpeel.i have posted a toruny report on this deck but neglected to mention sommething..if anyone out there in the great beyond plays this or a very simialr deck I would very much like to hear from you. This deck has become a pet project of mine.I would like to hear what you think is good/bad about it.How it does inany tournys..etc..The deck is not my own but was designed by Jamie Wakefield..Master of the Brothers Very Grimm.I have merely adopted it and changed it a little for my local metagame. So please feel free to contact me via email or by posting on this board.I will most assuredly respond to your mail.Posts and emails that say things like"uh....this deck sucks" will get no response as I am very tired of online battles and they are far too dull and trite to engange in any more.I do realize this deck is very "rogue"and not necessarily "strong" but you see...I am not a Pro Tour Player..I dont make a living off MTG.I dont care if its not the best or second best deck in t2..I like it..plain and simple. It is fun to play and actually has been doing well in tournys due to the shock value I believe.Plus..because I am a little bitter about all the ego maniacal "strong"big shots out there..I'll say this.It is VERY satisfying to have GRIMM SMASH some pompous a-hole with the latest "deck to beat"from the dojo.I dont get all jazzed up about this crush, kill, destroy thing. But for these guys?Yes I do take pleasure in Grimm beatdown.Lastly for those who dont know what a big shot is I'll give you an example of a typical conversation on IRC

guy1"how did you do vs Mr.X in the PTQ?"
bigshot"I crushed him!I destroyed him!It was a slaughter!I am so cool!Everyone said I had the best deck there"

heres what really happened...

guy1"how did you do vs Mr.X in the PTQ?"
bigshotbeinghonest"I flipped a card off my library and at the moment it was better than the cards he flipped off his library and being that we are equally good players I won"

Remember boys and girls..this game is rock, paper, scissors with a huge random factor..just a few thoughts

hope to hear from other Grimm players
