The information there certainly has the potential to be valuable enough for something like that. Say they charge 10 bucks a month, even. That's almost nothing compared to the amounts that most of us (myself excluded--i only play online) spend on cards. 2. Recruit "specialists". For instance, one-two people focusing specifically on limited deck construction, etc. To some degree, FK has already started to do this with Zvi opening up a deck clinic, Quard covering humor, Nicoloff doing human interest, etc. Here's a list of all the areas there SHOULD be: 1. Standard Format Deck Construction Similiar to what is now the "Deck Design Section". One individual would receive all submissions for standard format decks and would editorialize, selecting those decks that they believe are tournament quality. Updated once weekly. 2. Standard Format Metagaming Similiar to the "Decks to Beat" section. One individual would be responsible for constructing a standard format list of decks to beat and also for creating a win matrix for those archetypes. Updated once monthly. 3. Abstract Theory--Statistics, Metagame Theory, etc. Similair to what FK's got for MTG Theory, except that it would be strictly abstract stuff. Updated once weekly. 4. Classic Format Deck Construction and Metagaming Covers all topics related to the classic format. Updated two weeks after a new expansion comes out. 5. Extended Format Metagaming and Deck Construction Same as above, except for extended format. Also updated once monthly rather than just once per expansion. 6. Rath Metagaming/Deck Construction Updated once monthly. Otherwise same as above two. 7. US Metagaming/Deck Construction Updated once monthly. Otherwise same as above two. 8. Humor Updated whenever someone feels like it. 9. Rogue Decks; All Formats This person would have to spend some time on usenet, probably, sifting through all the crap in the hopes of finding the next solid deck. They'd update whenever they found a COMPLETELY innovative new decktype. Mostly this would be oriented towards combo-type decks. 10. Draft Strategy; All Formats Updated once monthly. 11. Sealed Strategy; All Formats Updated once weekly for the first month after a set comes out. Not updated again until a new set comes out. 12. News Mostly this would be just like mtgnews.com. Maybe even just linking there would be good enough. 13. Tournament Reports There would be NO editorializing. None. Just throw them up as you get them. Don't even read them--have the authors give the title of the report as follows: TR: "Title of Tourney Report". That's all it would take. The problem is that there's just too much damn information for one person to handle. There should actually probably be about 15-20 people doing this. Maybe they should even be paid for it.... a
