Subject: [ISSUE]Alternative to Banning

In order to maintain competetive sport within the tournament
scene without banning the abusive and occasionally broken cards
such as Tolarian Acedemy or Recurring Nightmare I suggest that
DCI alter the maximum number of copies of a card from the current
four to three.

Banning cards completely elimates certain archtypes that have been
found to be abusive, but also limits the current tournament scene to
the standard few archetypes that exist.  Certainly "The Acedemy" is
not the only deck to use Tolarian Acedemy, but is the most powerful
without doubt.  "The Acedemy" relies on having a good number of cards
quickly and reliably.  Reduce the number of these cards in the deck
and "The Acedemy" becomes sane.

Many will cry out "That will destroy consistancy, turn magic into a
game of luck instead of skill!  Don't do it DCI!"   I disagree, for
skill becomes even more a factor now that we can no longer rely on
our power cards to win us a game, but must rely on a more balanced
decktype and greater level of intelligence.  Without four of each
power card, from Incinerate and Dark Ritual to Tolarian Acedemy and
Counterspell,  tournaments will see less Dojo decks and more variety
as archetype decks suddenly need other cards to fill the spaces
created by the new limits.

I cry out to the DCI "Change the tournament scene Now!"
