Good day, Frank. I am writting in response to the "Supporting Extended"
articles in the Comunity Issues Forum.

I agree with the posts below 100% I think that Extended is possibly the
most level and variable playing feild potentially offered in a tournament.
This format would be great for old and new players alike. It would give
those who got in around The Dark (like myself) and those who got in
during Mirage a chance to use all of their middle-age to newer cards,
rather than a select few. An unlike 1.5 they don't have to worry about
someone comming in with a bunch of Sinkholes and Juzams and beating them
down unmercelessly.

I think that the comming of Urza's Saga will help to promote this format,
and if players can unite together and write (yes write) to Wizards, they
might support this format too. Things may be changing already. If you
hadn't noticed, the PT: Rome format will be Extended (if I read the news
release right). Check it out on the front page. WoTC might be waking up to
the fact that people like their old cards and are tired of not getting to
play them.

As to the cost of Extended I agree with those below. In fact if you look
at some of the real power cards in this format, you'll find they are
practically the same price or cheeper than new cards. Lightning bolt you
can find for 10 cents. Dual lands (which you don't really need) are around
10$. Hymn to Tourach is 10 cents. Outpost and Lake of the Dead might,
might run you 10$, but thanks to Wasteland it's not nearly as powerful
than before. Swords, Control Magic, and Force of will are all real cheap.
This is a great format.

If we can dispell new player's fear of playing with older cards, then I
think that Wizards will have no choice than to support this format through
both tournaments and the Arena League. Thank you for listnening.
