Subject: How to Gather RATH Tech [Humor] Date: Wed, 26 Aug 1998 03:23:30 EDT From: WylieBlows@aol.com To: fkusumot@ix.netcom.com The following article is intended to be slightly humorous, but at the same time...... Myself and a couple other serious players were having a discussion about Tech for RATH Cycle constructed. We stunbled upon something very interesting. Our conclusions are based on the following assumptions: 1) Good tech for Rath Cycle Constructed EXISTS. 2) Teams with good tech will not willingly share that tech with non-team members, especially those good players on good teams. 3) While team members are going to be playtesting within their team, they will still be curious about what else is out there, and thirsting for more play. So this is what you do. You build the following deck; 4 Mogg Fanatics 4 Mogg Raiders 4 Mogg Conscripts 4 Mogg Flunkies 4 Jackal Pup 3 Canyon Wildcat 1 Rathi Dragon 2 Goblin Bombardment 4 Kindle 4 Shock 3 Lightning Blast 3 Sonic Burst 16 Mountains 4 Wastelands This is not a very difficult deck to build, it is not rare-intensive, it is not expensive, and to be honest.....its not even that great of a deck. Except now you have a Rath Cycle Constructed deck. So this weekend at the PTQ you attend, when some Pseudo-Pro Player or hopefully a real player is walking around saying, "Anyone want to test Rath Cycle?" You say yes. CONGRATULATIONS. Free tech. Helpful Hints: 1) Go into the match saying things like, "This deck has about 30 play-test hours in it, and about 50 play-test hours in decks within 6 cards of it." 2) This deck seems to beat all the other Rath decks we have come up with so far. 3) Lose each and every game, but lose happily. Engage your opponent in friendly banter, and get them talking about their deck. The more they win, the happier they will be, the more they will talk. 4) Don't play poorly, but even played at its best, its not that great a deck :) Oh yeah, any Tech you gleam, email to me as soon as possible. WylieBlows@aol.com Team Rogue "I like to go near Scrye. I liek there book, how the cover is nice and smooth, how it doesn't split up like inquest. There decks aren't that bad. I like the deck from tourneys and the artists address to. Inquest might just have some more funner decks." - Jaynyc69@aol.com
